Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

To get to this place you must drive a 4x4 vehicle. Is a challenge ride! If you are not comfortable or don’t have experience driving on terrain/rocks road hire a tour guide.
Believe me is worth it... the view is amazing!

Definitely the best place to visit in El Salvador if you want to connect with nature and have one of the most amazing and memorable views out there. Just make sure you have a 4x4 vehicle is driving as the unpaved road may be challenging. Other than that super safe area and I will be back.

I stayed overnight and camped, and saw some amazing sunset and sunrise views from the top of the volcano de Conchagua. More backpackers should stop here as they travel from el Tunco/San Salvadoe/El Cuco to Nicaragua. It is currently under construction so the facilities are not finished, but they have everything you need for a stay overnight camping in their tents. Luis, the owner, is a very nice man and truly cares making your experience great. I also liked that he truly cared about the environment, and you can see it with the way he manages the property. Luis went the extra mile to call local people to help plan my next hostel and transportation in La Union. It is hard to find affordable accommodation online in La Union, but a great option to stay at before or after camping at the top of Volcán Conchagua is at the local Anexo Santa Marta Hostel.

It's a bumpy and adventurous 1 hour ride up and another 1 hour ride down...best $10 you will spend in La Unión. You need to make arrangements with the owner, Luís Diaz (503) 7824-7766. He is a great guy and will do pickups in the La Unión center and the Comfort Inn hotel. Schedules are 8:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. We were picked up at 3:10 p.m. and dropped off at 6:20 p.m.

Nice view, beautiful forest and a bath of nature. Best place to watch the islands of the Gulf of Fonseca, great for those who like the camping experience.
