Loved this visit to Low Head Penguin tours. I had reservations about going on this tour as the penguin numbers are down in April, but it was really super. We were split into small groups and assigned to guides and taken to the beach to await the penguin arrival. At least 30 penguins suddenly appeared out of the waves onto... More

I would consider our visit to the colony one of the highlights of our trip to Tasmania. The staff is very knowledgeable and went out of their way to position us for the best and safe interaction with the penguins. We were able to get great pictures and video. My wife and I are seniors but the kids on the... More

My 5 year old is penguin obsessed so we could not miss the chance to see some penguins up close and we were not disappointed. It was a special experience seeing penguins coming in to the beach and then marching up the dunes within touching distance of us. The guides were super friendly and knowledgable, and it was all over... More

Up close with the penguins. And the guides are very knowledgeable, showed us the burrows and their chicks. Quite an experience.

Well organised and able to get close to the penguins. A beautiful way to view part of their daily routine and see them close up. Really pleased that they are being run by a company so that the penguins are not hurt/damaged in any way. (I had no idea that white lights harm them, hence why they use orange and... More

In general the tour is an excellent chance to see little penguins up close and to learn about them. Definitely better that the arena-like show at Philip Island. Still, we didn't fully like the way it's run. At the beginning all the visitors for the night get divided into smaller groups, each with their own guide, before they had out... More

This was a great experience for everyone. We had elderly people and very young children there the evening we visited, and we were all sorted out with coloured wristbands to determine which group went where. Kids were taken right down to the edge of the sea and sat on the sand as the penguins walked past them, whilst the older... More

Well run tours, was able to get right up close to some baby penguins waiting for their mums and dads to come in from the sea...was just amazing. Even in summer, take a coat and shoes suitable for walking in grainy sand as there is a bit of waiting and it is on the coast so windy. Highly recommend this... More

What a lovely experience excellent information given about the area and the penguins This time of year there are a lot of chicks so you get to see them feeding, was a little cold so take a coat that's for sure, was able to get up close with the penguins, they walk around your feet. Photos can be taken but... More
