My wife and I had just visited Montelimar and decided that a detour of 30 minutes was in order. Tucked in the mountains within view of the French Alps is this 12th century village. Not a car in sight or the sound of any other humans. We walked thru the tiny medieval streets and were in awe of the architecture... More

Walking on the narrow streets of the Village Médiéval, stepping on the old white rocks, I had the feeling that I am back in time and I join all the joy and the pain from the past. Unfortunately I hadn't enough time to have lunch on one of the tiny, peaceful restaurants...

We were drawn to this site for its beautiful setting and fascinating history. There was an art/ photography exhibit which was interesting. Thclimb to the top was narrow and steep but the view of the valley was wonderful The whole town is worth the visit.

A truly medieval abandoned village with a few renovated houses. The Protestant museum is well worth a visit, and if open the keep, which from the top gives superb views of the valley.

You have a lot of old villages in France but this one is very well maintained and you still have the feeling of the old time. You have also the ability to spend time there, while having a lunch in a restaurant of your choice. The location is great and views are very nice. I love the place.
