A beautiful place to get away from it all - peaceful; not many visitors and sky parks singing at right time of tear. Literary associations for Swindon's most famous writer - Richard Jefferies. Parking is difficult but worth the effort.

For many years always wondered what was up on the top of the hill. While it is a steep climb up from the Aldbourne road initially. The path does level off and the gradient becomes far more manageable. While there is not much to see...More

I have visited Liddington Castle in Swindon a few times. The walk around the castle is very good with views over Swindon and the surrounding area (But not recommended for people with any walking disabilities as the terrain is very steep)

There is a farm shop at Chiseldon which has parking. This is about a mile and a half from the hill just off the A346.There is also a small layby on the Ridgeway Road which runs past the hill which is big enough for one vehicle
