Hobbs Point is a place to sit and relax, watching the boats come and go. Before the bridge was built it was the departure point for the ferry to Neyland. It was quite frightening to drive one's car on, using the wet slippery slipway. Now you can watch the Irish ferry. A pleasant diversion.

Call me a boat/ship spotter, I don't mind. But if you're a boat/ship spotter like me and are in Pembroke dock then take the Pier Road past Lidl and follow it to the end, here you'll find Hobbs Point observation point. There are no facilities here, no toilets and no cafe but the views towards Pembroke Dock, Milford Haven and the estury are excellent. There's all types of river and sea craft to be seen, and with the right binoculars or camera you can even see as far as the tankers at Milford Haven. The parking here is free and there's nothing to stop you bringing a picnic, just remember to take your leftovers away with you. What are you waiting for, go and enjoy the view?
