Visit Dalwhinnie Distillery Whisky and Chocolate, a match made in heaven....

Visit Dalwhinnie Distillery Whisky and Chocolate, a match made in heaven. Our tours and tastings offer something a little different - a range of Classic Single Malts paired with specially selected luxury highland chocolates. Come and elevate your senses in the highest distillery in the land. Visit Scotland 5 Star Visitor Attraction. We are the highest distillery in the land and weather conditions can be severe. It is always best during winter months to phone in advance to see if we are open to visitors. We do advise that you book your tour in advance. Dalwhinnie Distillery stands in the Cairngorm National Park at the heart of the Scottish Highlands in the village of Dalwhinnie. From this remote but accessible location comes our Dalwhinnie 15 year old single malt scotch whisky. Know as the gentle spirit. We invite you to visit us for a distillery tour and see how we make our single malt whisky. At the end of the tour enjoy a taste of Single malt whisky paired with specially selected handmade chocolate. Dalwhinnie 15 year old is a Highland malt whisky but some have argued that it should be called Speyside malt because our water source is a tributary of the river Spey the great whisky river. We are sometimes called the highest distillery in Scotland and at 1164 feet above sea level we must be one of the highest distilleries. We don't worry these debates and concentrate on making great single malt whisky. When you come to Dalwhinnie distillery you can see us making single malt Scotch whisky or you can come for a whisky tasting. We have paired great single malts like Dalwhinnie, Glenkinchie, Cragganmore, Talisker, Oban and Lagavulin with specially selected handmade chocolates. Why not come and try our adult hot chocolate! Our whisky and chocolate tastings are a truly unique experience. 1 hour south of Inverness on the A9, 2 hours north of Edinburgh on the A9 and 1 hour east of Fort William on the A86 and A82. Just of the A9 and A86. Dalwhinnie's central location (close the geographic centre of Scotland) makes it a great base for exploring other single Malt distilleries like Ben Nevis, Tomatin, Glenfiddich, Glen Livet, Macallan, Glenmorangie as well as many of the Classic Malt Distillery. Dalwhinnie is only a short drive away from Newtonmore, Kingussie, Aviemore, Inverness, the House of Bruar, Pitlochry, Loch Ness, Fort William and Blair Athol

Scotch Tasting Passport Stamped!

We enjoyed our brief stop at Dalwhinnie. What a great idea and deal to have warm chocolate with whisky on a cold November morning and we got to keep our glass!

We were here en-route to Inverness and was attracted by it's location and atmosphere. It was said that this distillery is the one at the highest altitude in highland. i'm not sure a I didn't visit all distilleries in Highland but the unique location is something special. We were on a tasting menu and the products were all great. The... More

I'm not a great whisky lover but my friend is. We went here on a wet Sunday afternoon. We hadn't pre-booked a tour but the staff let us join one that was about to start. Hint: book ahead even in low-season to be sure of getting a tour. The distillery is away from towns and villages and it's a relatively... More

Davy Campbell gave us a great tour and injected his own type of humour while enlightening us on the making of whiskey. The tour ended with a sampling of a very nice whiskey and some very nice chocolate and you get to keep the dram glass as a souvenir. Inexpensive and well worth it.

Stopped here to have a malt tasting with a friend who is not a malt drinker. The tasting area is a large room with a small pub-like nook. There is a large range of different tasting menus and each malt came with a truffle to compliment the malt. Definitely would recommend this distillery. We did not have enough time for... More

Great staff and nice looking distillery makes this absolutely worth a stop. We had the opportunity to try out some of their single malts and got a good insight in their current production. Not my favorite cup of tea as far as single malts go, but interesting flavors. The staff was very knowledgeable and made our experience on of the... More

The highest distillery in Scotland, certainly lived up to its billing as it was a blustery, cold November day when we visited! The warm welcome we received from the staff however certainly helped us relax and look forward to our tour. The distillery tour was great, giving an overall summary of the whisky making process. On returning to the warehouse... More
