As ever, a wonderful place to spend time walking in the park area and enjoying the surroundings. There are numerous tracks which make the 'adventures' more interesting as well as contributing to a fitness regime. Dogs are welcome so do not forget poo bags.

I visit at least once a week. I do have a dog, and it is a great place for dog-walking. It's also good for child-walking. It adjoins Thursaston Common, and both are worth exploring. It's very varied. There's great woodland, heather moor, views across the...More

Used to come to Royden Park as a child and was hoping the little railway, with the miniature steam trains were still operational on a Sunday, well they were and it didn’t disappoint. In fact, they have made it better with a slightly larger train...More

Not visited here for many years. Delighted to see that the model railway has been expanded and was very busy. Lovely walks on open fields and woodlands. Great for kids and dogs. And now a cafe a delightful addition. I enjoyed the walled garden.

Beautifully cared for park which looked very natural with lake, walled garden and open spaces for picnics and ball games etc A small train runs in season. Dog friendly with a café and fresh water. Toilets clean and park is fairly wheelchair friendly.
