Don’t bother trying to bring your car
Sep. 2021 • Couples
Waste of time driving to this place down the narrow lanes as there is absolutely nowhere to park unless you are staying at the hotel or lucky enough to get a space in the tiny pub car park (for patrons only). Then you damage the bottom of your car or your front bumper as you try to perform a 3-point turn on the severely sloping road at the harbour as you try and leave the village after realising that you have just wasted half an hour driving to the place.
The person who said there was ample parking at the top of the village is clearly hallucinating, writing about the wrong place or is plainly being mischievous.

Just delightful!

Lovely, timeless location, where they still winch small fishing boats up on the beach.
The only other place I know of like this is Cadgwith Cove on the Lizard peninsula.
Simple and unspoiled - thankfully not inundated with tourists like Polperro.
There are beautiful clifftop walks to enjoy, or you can just sit and listen to the waves lapping on the shore.

Very cute place

Picturesque village with a great hotel, right on the coastal park. The ship inn also serves great beer battered fish and chips. Very relaxing place.

Worth a visit if you’re in the area

Small coastland village, it’s small and not much going on there. It is beautiful and makes a nice walk. The views are fantastic and nice way to spend a few hours. There are places to eat there, but that’s pretty much it.

Unspoiled Village

A traditional Cornish fishing village. Local fishermen still bring in lobsters to this beautiful harbour

Well worth a visit

Little Port

Little Port, narrow roads, very picturesque, worth a drive through or visit if in the area, not much parking.

Get out and about

Portloe boasts the Lugger, the Ship Inn (closed when we were there) and that's it. Good clifftop walks, lots of other places within easy reach, or just laze on the hotel's sun deck/terrace (weather permitting).

Very Crowded.

Nice little village, but would not recommend visiting. It's a tourist trap and completely overrun, making it feel like a theme park. Best left to the locals.

classic Cornish cove
Mar. 2020
This is a beautiful little cove but you need to go prepared.
Either book a lunch at the Lugger Hotel (can recommend) and use their car park or take your own supplies and leave your car in the village car park and enjoy a picnic lunch from one of the benches on the cliff path with a panoramic view to die for. Take a pair of binoculars, a book to read and a sketchbook with you.
If that's not your thing you're in the wrong place!

Walks and location beautifully bracing yet stunningly scenic. Little gems all around in the pubs and countryside around.
