We stayed at the HI Express and wandered down to Minster Village on a cold Saturday morning. The church of St Mary stands out where ever you are and is a magnificent beacon of recognition to the first place of Christianity in England, which arrived with St Augustine from Rome in the 597 AD. Unfortunately the church was not open... More

We visited this wonderful church by chance. Rail replacement bus delays caused us to have a wander. We stepped through the door and beheld the wonderful architecture and stained glass windows. Then a voice from above ( not the voice from above) but campanology teacher said come on up. So we breached in and made our way up the spiral... More

I like to go for the odd walk, so because I am disabled with back problems and walk very slowly with aids, I often need somewhere to sit for a while. This happened just before Christmas. The weather was quite warm considering it was December and I was out for what was a very leisurely stroll(by the way , I... More

Have spent many pleasant afternoons at this pleasant church. My partner Jane loved the place and even managed to get a guided tour up the steeple (she raved about it). This church is a hidden gem in Kent and of the oldest churches in the area. According to history in 597 Augustine of Canterbury it was said, that the Venerable... More

St Mary the Virgin Church was the village church where my mother-in-law got married and it's seen many a family wedding, funeral and baptism. We wanted to look around it and thought at first it was closed but a very helpful Churchwarden told us to give the handle a good push! We spent quite a lot of time looking around... More
