Great views from the car park a few miles up the glen (on left). Information available from Lochaber Geopark Association at the Darwin's Rest in Roy Bridge or on the Scotland's National Nature Reserve website.

I love nature mountain Gulley scene... You can try a big loud shout and the echo is beautiful. In summer time, Glen Roy is beautiful clear and green. I bet winter time, it's different view for sure! It's easy to recognize Glen Roy location, there's a big space for car parking and guidelines board! You will pass few village houses... More

Having been interested in glaciation since my school days, I stumbled across reference to this landscape feature close to where we were staying in Spean Bridge. After driving along a single lane track for about 3 miles you reach a parking area with an informative explanatory plaque about the Parallel Roads. The scenery is beautiful and the landscape feature easy... More

We were staying at Roy Bridge and passed the sign to this ice-age scene every day. I had a spare morning and drove up to the viewpoint which is about 3 miles from the main road. Worth a side trip, nice viewpoint, great place to stay in a campervan overnight, silent and secluded. Other people parked there to walk around... More

Travel - Scotland, Parallel Roads, by the way you can see the Battle of Mulroy Memorial - it is said that it was the last battle when bows were used - 1688. Parallel Roads is a lay of the land where once upon a time a lake was - at different high, so it made visible lakeside - "roads". Lodge... More

Yes! I have actually seen {and stood on} one of the parallel roads of Glen Roy! Start off by reading the information displayed in the Darwin:s Rest Coffee Shop in Roy Bridge, then drive the three miles up to the car park in Glen Roy. There are more information boards there and on a clear day you can have a... More

If you're passing through Roy Bridge on the A86 make sure you divert down the road to Bohuntine into Glen Roy (past the coffee shop and Catholic church). As well as being a stunningly beautiful glen (enough on its own to warrant a visit) after about a couple of miles of single track road you get to see the famous... More

I reviewed this under a Geoparks review. The 3 long, level ridges on the mountainsides look like man-made roads. They even fooled Charles Darwin, but when you venture up the exciting single-track in your car (better by mountain bike or on foot) the reward is a stunning panorama of the effects of glsciation.

The entrance to Glen Roy is a short drive from Spean Bridge (turn left on the small road after Darwin's Rest just before you reach Roy Bridge), but the glen stretches quite a long distance down a narrow road that winds through a small village up into the hills. The scenery is varied, quaint, and likely beautiful in all weather... More
