This park is on my doorstep, lucky me. I walk here most days and enjoy the wildlife. I take my dog and it’s popular with dog walkers.

All that is left of Clare Castle is a couple of walls, earthworks and part of a moat, so don’t expect to spend hours there; it probably occupied all of 20 minutes of our visit. It’s worth the climb to the top however and the...More

While not being large, this park provides an good opportunity for a short walk. We visited on a clear and sunny day and, after a gentle climb up to the castle, were rewarded with an excellent view of the surrounding countryside. The fencing and pathways...More

It's always nice to visit a place and not have to pay. The spiral walk up to the castle is a challenge but worth it for the view.

A lovely quiet piece of local history presented in a local park. Lots of grassy space for the kids, a castle ruin to climb and the old railway station with cafe to enjoy refreshments - excellent!

In good sunshine, but with dark clouds everywhere we braved the elements to scale the motte of Clare Castle and found the views from the summit most rewarding. The steps are well cut and felt safe, and it was definitely worth the effort. After descending,...More
