Bobotov kuk is 2525m high and the highest peak in Montenegro. The best hike is during summer months July and August, but September hike can be great if the weather is OK. There are 3 hiking trails leading to this peak and each of them is guaranteed adventure. First and the longest one is starting from Crno jezero (Black Lake)... More

If you ask Montenegro people about this peak, no question, most of them will tell you that this mountain and Bobotov kuk are national pride of their country. With the reason, I must admit. The hike itself (no matter direction you take) is stunning. Scenery, surrounding peaks, everything. and if you manage to hit the right weather, jack pot. I... More

I was hiking with a park ranger from New Zealand and even he couldn't believe the wide range of geological formations in the park and its sheer massive beauty. It reminded me of scenes straight out of Lord of the Rings. The last 20 meters at the top is a bit gnarly. Be extra careful and it's definitely worth every... More

Montenegro's highest peak must be seen to be believed. Rugged and wild there is one road that snakes through the national park around Bobotov Kuk. We rode through on motorbikes but there were plenty of climbers and walkers about.

We started the hike at Sedlo, good place to start the hike towards the Bobotov Kuk. The route towards this starting point is already worth it, beautiful views. Beginning of the hike is very steep and even a bit dangerous. But worth it, further on the route the path is quite flat, with the exception of some sections. You can... More

As many people before me wrote, this isn't a hike for everyone. Anyway the view is beautiful, definitely worth the energy required for getting there!

Fantastic experience for a not very skilled hiker, however with a little help of the friends I managed to get to the top. It is very difficult, but rewarding.

This is an awesome hike, absolutely one of my favourites. There are a ton of different approaches with varying degrees of difficulty. We're relatively advanced hikers and took a longer route (15+ miles round trip), with some of the more challenging approaches. The trial was well marked but still sufficiently challenging with some scrambles to be very enjoyable. Highly recommend.... More
