Is one of the largest fortifications in India, the huge fort covers a large area only visitable at about 30%. Still, book a good 3 to 4 hours if you want to know your story well. If it is morning it is common to climb the elephant fortress If you want to have this experience go early, since by law... More

We visited on our VJv tour with our guide Sameer. I would not like to have gone on our own. Like all attractions it is surrounded by madness and street sellers that pester you a bit but they are not unsafe and just trying to make a living. That should not put you off as this is just amazing. Like... More

One of the most impressive sights we have seen so far in Rajasthan. Is very impressive with its hill top location and surrounded by a wall which reminded me of a mini Great Wall of China. Give yourself at least a couple of hours to do this place justice.

The scale of the Fort is immense and the views down across the valley are stunning. Above this Fort and other fortifications. Elephant rides from the valley to the fort.

One of our highlights on our tour of India. We rode on an elephant up to the fort. A real insight into the grandeur of the past. The fort itself is on a massive scale. Beautiful buildings and amazing views. A real example of the skills of the people of the past. In some ways like a miniature Great Wall... More

Neither is it named for its colour or petrified sap but us, nevertheless a beguiling place perched high on its hill. Ingenious air-conditioning systems and the bath house are subtle attractions worth seeking out.

Whilst I heard about this fort, a visit this year has taken my breath away. It is indeed a grand one and is beyond one's imagination how this fort would have been constructed. To really absorb this fort one must spend at least a day otherwise it will be like a dream which one will forget soon. The views from... More

Massive palace with great architecture and artistry. Do not ride the elephants to the top, it is reported these poor animals are not treated the best. If you want to ride an elephant and spend more time interacting with elephants, go to Elefantastic, also in Jaipur. The Palace is huge, spend 3-4 hours here to take it all in. I... More

The fort is huge and worth the trek up the hill. We ignored the plethora of eager men wanting to be our 'tour guide' and opted for the audio guide. It was average with its content and a bit pricey but worth it as all money goes to fort upkeep. If you get a chance walk down the back way... More

Along with the iconic structure most notably associated with India, (the Taj Mahal), the fort is one of the most beautiful structures to be seen in Rajasthan, and India generally. We were very fortunate to have a guide brimming with historical knowledge, who made our experience so much more worthwhile. This is a "must see", both from the lake which... More
