Brother and I were driving around just looking at scenery, stumbled on this second Normandy area cemetery, the Brittany one. Just as impressive as the American one we would see later. There were more than 4,000 Americans buried here. The rolling hills of Brittany were alive with the mooing of cows.

A very humbling experience indeed, it makes you really appreciate how lucky we are to have such brave soldiers. The cemetery is in the most stunning surroundings and is immaculately kept. It is very informative with very helpful staff who are happy to help you with any questions that you have. If you have an interest in the Military or... More

Amazing place! So beautifully kept and peaceful. Walter was a great person to talk to as he knew everything there was to know about the place. Definitely pick up a brochure from the visitor centre in the entrance as there is so much to know about the cemetery that you wouldn't know just looking around. Walter was kind enough to... More

So beautifully maintained and humbling. An opportunity to reflect in the wonderfully peaceful surroundings to pay respects to those who sacrificed everything so we may holiday here in Brittany/Normandy. The maps in the church were so interesting and helped to explain the story that followed the events of D-Day. Easy parking immediately opposite the entrance.

Visited during our recent trip to France. The cemetery is incredibly tranquil and offers a chance to reflect. Despite the 1000's of graves it's still impossible to fathom the full extent of loss. A truly moving experience I will never forget and I'm glad that I was able to visit.

We visited the cemetery to lay flowers on the grave of Americam soldier George Mick. Regis and Nicole, owners of Chateau de Bouceel, where we were spending the week, care for this grave and sent lovely flowers with us. We were fortunate to meet Walter Benjamin, one of the two administrators at the cemetery, and he gave us a very... More

I have been here many times and I bring friends often. If you are looking to find a specific headstone, you need to go to the tourist office to find out how to locate the cross.
