Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A quiet day when we visited but I could imagine how busy it could become. Parking available starting at $8:00 an hr so not cheap unless there is a group of you. The sand was gritty....not the fine sand found on other beaches but the beach nonetheless is beautiful. The ferry seems to be quite a walk from the beach. Stunning views of Pittwater.

There is no where to park where there is no metered parking along the coast unlike other states. What's worse is that they barely have any signage. So even if you park on an area without any signs they fine you $116 and it seems like they discriminate and fine those who are not locals.

Palm beach is a very pretty place to have a look around. Downer is the having to pay for parking even if here for a short time. It is confusing & expensive. We were here to see the sets used in the home & away series & to have a look around. All in all nice place but left confused & disappointed. Would i return NO. We drove in & did not come from Sydney so could not join one of the tours based from there. We found the sites we were looking for & for my wife as a fan of the show she was dismayed also. If you want to do the tour do the tour as this experience may be much better. Parking for the few hours we were here cost me almost $20.00. not impressed no i have only been to one other place that charges to park at the beach & this is NSW also. Way to bring visitors to town. This is another reason travel overseas id so popular & Australians do not holiday here. We were trying to do our bit to help out after the hard times.

Great place to hangout with freinds. This place is about hour away from Sydney. Ample parking space and also very good track to the lighthouse. We have been here couple of times and the weather over here keeps on changing. Sometimes its windy sometimes its not and same goes for the humidity, so always check weather and choose your cloths accordingly. Beach is beautiful and less crowded. There are couple of parks surrounding it with tables where you can have your picnic. Park your car at very end of the beach if you are not into walking. Its one of the best places you can visit from Sydney.

If you go to the south end of the beach there are safer waves and the flags are up. If you want to get a feel for it then watch the movie Palm Beach with Bryan Brown in it. One of Sydney best.

We were staying in Sydney. Took a ferry to Manly and hopped on a bus for an hour 10 minute ride to Palm Beach. We had nothing but time so why not. The bus ride took us through many smaller towns and plenty of other beach opportunities if you wanted to make a day of it. We walked, waded and sunbathers for a few hours. Had a coffee and snack opposite the beach before the bus ride back. The beach is beautiful, quiet and felt very secluded from the hustle and bustle of most. The homes built into the hilltops around the cove are outstanding. There is also a bath for swimming at the far end. Bathrooms, showers available to public. Enjoy!

Lovely beach, very long with lots of parking at southern and northern ends. Be careful if the wind is northerly or southerly as the sand can be annoying. Swim between the flags as strong currents can be present. Lots of local places to eat as well.

We drove up to Palm Beach to take a look on a cool and cloudy day. Despite the weather, the beach looked good and was a decent spot for a short walk. I’d imagine it is stunning during the summer months (although probably very busy).

My partner & i went here for a day trip when staying in Sydney. It took about 2 hours on the bus but it was worth it! Famously known as the set of Home & Away - Summer Bay. The location is beautiful with a long clean beach and lovely surroundings! The surf club & kiosk serve cold drinks and souveneirs. A short walk away is the second beach area located by the boat club. Again this is a beautiful beach. We were very lucky as we got to see the cast filming and had pics took with them!! As a fan this just made my day even better!!! Definately a place to visit!

We are Home and Away fans and on our visit to Sydney we decided to make a day trip to Palm Beach aka Summer Bay. It is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes by bus on the L90, however it does have limited stops so that makes it a little faster. It is also a regular bus, coming every 20-30 minutes. The beach where Home and Away is filmed is on one side, and more of a bay/harbour is on the other. There is a restaurant on the beach side called the Dunes, and you can also get icecreams and drinks from the Palm Beach Surf Club aka Summer Bay Surf Club! There is a Summer Bay Surf Club sign on the building that you can get your photo with. If you walk up and around on the bay side of Palm Beach is a restaurant called The Boathouse. This is often filmed as "the diner" on the water. It also has a wee wharf. One of the other wharves featured on the show is back further, opposite Barrenjoey House. It was a great wee day trip and we felt like we were walking around in a film set!

Hi
regarding the Palm beach ''home and away tour'' at $99. i have the following questions please:
1) does the bus go past Bondi Junction Station. If so, can i be picked up from here?
2) I note that the tour commences at 1.15pm. How long is the tour? as I have an event at 6ish back at Bondi junction. If you have a morning tour, pls advise.
Many thanks
cheers

1) No
2) According to information Flamin' Galah Sydney Tours website, the Official Home and Away Tour to Summer Bay currently runs every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. The pick-up point is at 1.15pm outside the sliding door entrance to the Museum of Contemporary Art on George Street, at The Rocks, Sydney. Please wait at the Museum entrance on the George Street side and NOT the waterside. When the Tour is over you will be dropped off at beautiful Manly Beach around 5pm. From Manly, you can then get on the iconic Sydney ferry back to Circular Quay (30 mins, approx. $7.4 per person).
The tour generally lasts 4 hours.
Their phone number is 61 02 9977 7890.

There would be a long hike up to the lighthouse which would be a few klms. The houses are set on the side of hills and once again it would be a long climb.

where is best place for family of 6 to stay near palm beach? we like to see home and away filming
Written 11 July 2016
Home and away filming is not always there on a daily basis at all!!!!!!!! Perhaps call the producers to find out when they are working out at Palm Beach. As you know not all shots are taken on the beach actually few.

Catch the Bus the L90 from Wynyard Station. You can google for more information. We took a Guided Tour 3 of us $100 each. However next time we will just jump on the L90 and come back to the Sydney CBD when we are ready, There are also motels you can book into when you are there to be able to stay over night if you want too.

Hi love home & away & want to visit this on our short stay but will miss out on tour dates. Looking for tips on how to get there easily as we have walking difficulties. Don't really want to hire car and drive - is there any private hire or are buses easy to negotiate please. Thank you

We went on the SNBT Tour Guide $105 Aus dollars each include lunch. Pick up McDonalds Albert St Circular Quay guided tour all the way. Drop off at Manly to catch a ferry back to Circular Quay. Or apparently catch a bus from Wynyard Bus stop the L90 Not sure how much quite cheap I think less than $20 using a Opal Card, buy this card at any convenience store etc.
