Sea Kayaking Abel Tasman National Park

Kaiteriteri Kayaks has been operating sea kayaking tours in the Abel Tasman National Park for nearly 20 years.

With every trip we ensure that: safety is a priority; everyone has a relaxed time in an enjoyable atmosphere, and the beautiful environment is respected. Our trips are about experienced guides and good times, not hard work. For lots of laughs join a trip with the locals!

Over 50 kilometres of coastline offers dozens of golden sand beaches to visit, while the many coves and lagoons provide plenty of interesting nooks and crannies to explore. Sea kayaking here also opens up a world of sea and bird life encounters with animals such as penguins, seals and dolphins. So all in all, you’ve got to say, it’s really not a bad spot!

Had a wonderful afternoon to Split Apple Rock with our fantastique guide, John from Canada. It was a small cosy group and we fitted in kayak surfing and kayak sailing on the way to the Rock. Not to mention the much needed coffee and biscuit stop on the deserted beach. The trip definitely was one of the highlights of my... More

Did the split apple tour this morning- lovely weather and perfect tour for young kids (ours are 7 and 9). John a 5 star guide, made us feel very safe but also had a great sense of humour. 100% recommend.

We did the full day kayak tour starting from Tonga, which includes water taxi, a free pick up/return to our accommodation, and lunch. We were able to see a few Fur Sealsand relax on an amazing beach. Hannah was amazing! She was very informative, patient, and friendly.

Our guide for the day, Quira, was so enthusiastic about everything we were doing. She entertained us the whole trip. The Kayaks were easy to use and her instruction was excellent. We enjoyed the pace of the trip and the scenery is amazing. A very enjoyable experience. Go Quira

I went to Kaiteriteri as part of a road trip, and we booked with this kayak company as a total spontaneous move, but I am SO glad we did. In the three weeks we had in New Zealand this is probably one of my favourite days! We were on the Sterling Sunrise tour which enabled us to both hike and... More

We did the full day Heart of The Park guided Kayak trip. Started with a scenic cruise followed by an unguided walk along coastal tracks then a guided kayak with John from Canada. John was careful to understand each persons abilities. A very responsible fellow who did a great job. Recommend this trip if you want a little experience of... More

After a week-long tramp nearby, I wanted to make a brief visit to the Abel Tasman National Park which I hadn't been to before. I selected the Heart of the Park option. The company's bus picked me up from my hostel at Motueka and brought me to Kaiteriteri, where we embarked in a touring boat. There was an enjoyable cruise... More

Had a cool day at Kaiteriteri beach and spent an hour on a Stand Up Paddle board. Hiring the board was simple, easy to do and loads of fun. The team at Kaiteriteri Kayaks were so friendly and helpful.

Lovely people offering all you need to make your trip a good and safe one. Waters were perfectly calm and we took off by ourselves along the coast to Split Apple Rock Beach. $55 for a four-hour rental. The coastline is beautiful. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, swimming gear and food for a picnic and you will have an awesome... More

My family did the combo day tour where we kayaked to Split Apple Rock in the morning and then took an afternoon boat into the park, where we were able to do a little walking. The kayaking conditions were very good, as was the equipment and scenery, but we thought our guide was mediocre. We would have been just as... More
