Sea Kayaking Abel Tasman National Park

Kaiteriteri Kayaks has been operating sea kayaking tours in the Abel Tasman National Park for nearly 20 years.

With every trip we ensure that: safety is a priority; everyone has a relaxed time in an enjoyable atmosphere, and the beautiful environment is respected. Our trips are about experienced guides and good times, not hard work. For lots of laughs join a trip with the locals!

Over 50 kilometres of coastline offers dozens of golden sand beaches to visit, while the many coves and lagoons provide plenty of interesting nooks and crannies to explore. Sea kayaking here also opens up a world of sea and bird life encounters with animals such as penguins, seals and dolphins. So all in all, you’ve got to say, it’s really not a bad spot!

My mother and i had an amazing experience with this company about two weeks ago. Very enjoyable time and we had a super awesome guide named Dan. He was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the land and history. We asked tons of questions and he was still able to answer every one. We had a great time and would... More

We choose to do the heart of park explorer as we wanted to experience a walk but also wanted to do some kayaking. It was a great choice. The weather was perfect when we cruised to Onetahuti Beach were we started our walk in Abel Tasman NP. We started our Kayak Adventure after a nice lunch on the beach. We... More

I had a really good experience with Kaiteriteri Kayaks! The day was very well organised - our boat had a delay in the morning, but we got to see dolphins on our way to Abel Tasman, so we really couldn't complain! I'm not used to kayaking and I found the amount of time spent on the kayak just right. We... More

My two co-workers and I got the chance to kayak with Kaiteriteri Kayaks and had the most amazing experience! We had an awesome guide named 'Koha' and she lead us to a spot called 'Apple Split Rock.' We were able to go at our own pace, take as many photos as we pleased, and soak in the beauty of this... More

Good service, excellent equipment. Would recommend just hiring a kayak for the half day rather than the tour option if I was going again.

We had an amazing trip and an awesome guide, Alex. He was fun, friendly, and got to know our names quickly. We did the Big Tonga trip and it started out with an absolutely stunning sea shuttle ride through the gorgeous Abel Tasman. We started our kayaking from Onetahuti Beach to Tonga Island Marine Reserve. We saw seals and their... More

We were met by Alex on the beach at Kaiteriteri. He was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. A short briefing and we were into the kayaks. We took a three hour tour of some of the quiet bays stopping at Splitapple Rock to enjoy a coffee and cookie on the beach, kindly provided by Alex and James. This was a wonderful... More

We did the Heart of the Park Explorer day trip. You get ferried out into the Park and dropped of at a beach where you begin you're unguided hike back towards Bark Bay where you meet again with your guide and the kayaks. The hike is pretty moderate and took us less then two hours. The hike affords great views,... More

Great Safety precautions, and instructions, eg flare and water pump on all kayaks. Paid $45 each for two of us sharing a kayak, for 2 hours. Same price if we had two separate kayaks. I thought it would be cheaper! Well worth doing. A great experience!
