Kaiteriteri is another beach area to visit, relax on the beach have an ice cream or just take in the views. Go here to watch the sun rise or sunset and you won't be disappointed and it's a starting point to take a boat to...More

This beach is the departure point for water taxis servicing Abel Tasman National Park. There is ample parking, a playground, and free public toilets. The beach was extremely quiet in winter with more seagulls than people. Views across the water were pretty early in the...More

Love this place, not so much in winter but summer time it's truly an amazing place. Been coming here for over 40 years. It's a bit more commercialised now, but it's a lovely place to come all the same

There's so many beautiful beaches close to Kaiteriteri that are so much better. Kaiteri is way too crowded as unfortunately a lot of wealthy families from Christchurch flock over every Summer. It's more of a fashionable location, where you would go to be seen. I...More

We visited here en-route from Nelson to Marahau. We got there about 10 am and the car park was very busy. We were there in the summer time so it’s going to be busy. We had a large campervan but got space eventually. The beach...More

Kaiteriteri Beach is a stunning location - and not just for beach bums! There are plenty of great cafes/bars as well as walks, swimming, and other water-based activities. The only downside is that during summer it is well and truly packed full of people! Prepare...More

Loved this beautiful beach, visited 3 times during our stay in NZ. Small inlet at one end of the beach, lots of families use this for smaller children to play in, us big kids loved it too. Lots of beautiful shells on the beach. Really...More

I have already answered this question a few weeks back. I do not know about bus schedules, I'm afraid, and in any case would recommend renting a car in order to get around New Zealand: the roads are generally quiet and the... More

I agree that a car is the only way to go. The Kiwi companies have worked well for us. If time allows, I recommend you spend time further north at Golden Bay...the east side has terrific access to the less crowded north... More
