A 1hr 15min drive west of Sydney will bring you to Glenbrook in the Lower Blue Mountains.
Enter the national park (fee payable) and head toward Euroka clearing. It is a nice spot where camping is allowed. Apart from the splendid scenery, one of the main attractions of this area is the abundance of Eastern Grey Kangaroos. Some are quite tame. Bird life is also prolific.
This is a great spot to take overseas guests who only have a limited time down-under, and would like to see Kangaroos outside of a zoo.

A friend of ours told us about Glenbrook and the beautiful walking tracks around it. She went with a group and spent a wonderful day in that area. It fired up our curiosity, so we decided to stretch our legs on that exciting place. Glenbrook didn’t disappoint us. We walked in our usual style, by fits and starts, from one path to the other, where we have seen something exciting, worth for a closer look. On a clearing, we noticed a wallaby, peacefully grazing. After we observed him noiselessly for quite long, he looked up, and decided, that he doesn’t need company, and jumped away.
The beauty of this place lies in its diversity. Here a thin jet of water rushing through the rocks, there a quiet lake surrounded by reeds, and on a sunny meadow a wallaby is grazing A shady walkway under the trees, or some rough climbing, almost everything can be found. You can take a dip in the waters of the jellybean lake when it is not polluted, or if you want a little more effort, you can choose Glenbrook Gorge Track. It doesn't require too much more fitness than average, but needs some bushwalking experience, because it's easy to get off the route. Jumping from one cliff to another in the bed of the creek will provide you with the exercise you required for that day. It’s a 4-degree hike, 3 km back and forth and takes 1.5-2.5 hours. There is a lot to go up and down on the track, - if it can be called that-, and it isn’t always in the best condition. In the end, if you didn't break your ankle, you could say, it was worth it.
So the area of Glenbrook is a place, where easily can everyone find its entertainment.

The kangaroos wander about the national park like deer do back at parks in the U.S. Pretty cool to see them outside of a zoo and we even we able to see some joeys.

Blue Mountains is a place you MUST visit while in Australia! It's full of everything: excitement, adventure, beauty! Better explore on your own - just drive there (if you have a rental car), buy a ticket, take a tram across the mountains, enjoy the amazing view of the Mountains, the cliffs and the Three Sisters. Then go down, walk in the park, and at the end ride in a crazy (literally!) railroad tram up. Not only you will enjoy the views, but you will be able to explore the park at your own time and pace.

I did it the easy way by parking in Glenbrook and taking the train to the trailhead in Woodford. Mostly downhill fire road, only need my little chainring a couple of times. I missed the upper portion of the single track unfortunately (apparently that's the natural trail bit, not the man made section?). The man made section was fun though. I also did the out and back to the Nepean river overlook which was well worth it.

Before choosing Glenbrook I did a bit of shopping round, but very happy to have chosen them . From the pick up to the end of the day Sean took very good care of the group. He did not limit to just doing the driving and giving us limited info. He went into detail. His friendly manner put the group at easy, my nephew (the only teenager) enjoyed himself too. Sean always had the right word and attention for all of us.
I would recommend this day trip been a relaxing way to be in a natural environment.
My daughter and I came all the way from Italy and together with my sister and nephew had a wonderful day.
P.s. the cruise with the sunset and night lights was a splendid ending.

I just want to thank you for a wonderful day with your group. Sean was just the very best! In today’s world we don’t experience much customer service. However, everyone I had contact with in your Blue Mountains/Glenbrook company went way above and beyond to give us special attention. When I was contacting you by email from our hotel to learn whether I had the correct tour company, I was surprised by a response from either Jack or Graham — and it came so quickly. I do not get a fast email response from anybody!

Breakfast in the bush! Walking among the kangaroos! Lunch at a most delicious cafe! The adventures in Scenic World and the Wildlife Park! We could have never gone on these tours on our own! And that Sean — anticipating our needs/desires before we could voice them. He was just the best — friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and so much more. One of my memories of him that will stay with me is him putting us on a ferry — not one of the regular ferries — but a big beautiful ferry — way ahead of the crowd — and then after we were onboard standing on the dock for at least 20 minutes waiting for us to leave before he walked away — waving to us and saying goodbye! Anybody else would have put us on the ferry and run to his car. Long day and I’m sure he was tired from all the running around he did all day.

So — from 7:00 am until around 5:30 pm we were treated with the utmost care by a group of wonderful people. Thank you again for making our last day in Sydney a memory to treasure and share with friends and family.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Blue Mountain tour with Andersons Tours. Ian was a fabulous guide who gave us individual attention. We had a small group and went on the rail and cable car and skyway in the beautiful Blue Mountains. We walked through the gorgeous rainforest. We went to Featherdale Wildlife Park and fed kangaroos and had our picture taken with a kaola bear and then saw a cultural dance at the Waradah Aboriginal Center. It was a fun packed day we will never forget!
