We were pleasantly surprised by the ruins. They are quite extensive and it’s easy to imagine when the town was alive with Romans. The ruins are situated behind a lovely crescent shaped beach with golden sands. In my opinion this beach beats other black sand...More

Fantastic small Roman city with very informative signs throughout the ruins in both Spanish and English. We went on a rainy day and when we arrived, since it had stopped raining, we saw the ruins before the museum which we thought actually made sense and...More

The archaeological ruins at Baelo Claudio are an easy 10 minute detour off of the N-340 near Bolonia. The price is a steal at €1.50 per person, and the cost includes museum entry. Take an hour to examine the ruins and imagine how the Romans...More

We were expecting to find a sign for the Baelo Claudia ruins, but went past a sign that said Bolonia and that rang a bell, so we turned around and followed that road and in 10 km or so found the ruins. After having a...More

Amazing to see actual history and be able to walk through the ruins. The kids, ages 7/10/15, all enjoyed the museum and the walk. It made it easy to explain the history and definitely peaked their interest!

We were staying at the Dos Mares Hotel and took a quick trip over to the museum and grounds. The displays are very well done and informative. The full on tour of the grounds was really interesting. You have the beach in front of you...More

Had heard about Baelo Claudia but had no idea it would be so good. It's free if you are a citizen of a UE country but at only 1.50€ entry in any case it's well worth the visit. Wow, those Romans could build. Little more...More
