Earthquake damage is considerable

They try to do restore the church but the damage is heavy. Pity because it is an old monumental church and the location is nice.

This church was pretty much destroyed on the inside by the Bohol Earthquake. You can go inside while the reconstruction is going on and, take photos (as we did). We got to visit this church in 2008 when we last visited Bohol and we were utterly surprised from the devastation of the 7.2 Earthquake that occurred on 15 October 2013.... More

It results really impressive to see the disaster of the earthquake on one of the oldest church of the island - just a few minutes stop is enough

You can see outside that is all. I hope they can make it accessible in the future. The earthquake did a lot of damage to roads also.

Our tour guide parked close by and asked a builder if we could go in. The church was badly damaged in the earthquake and there is a huge reconstruction project happening. Its beautiful inside and hilarious to walk amongst the builders and their machinery.

I was eager to quickly study (as a professional) this structure and even though it was pouring rain I asked our group to stop so I could take a quick look. A great structure that I am amazed still has a few spans remaining, but it does not appear to be restore-able at this time. I hope that I am... More

A must see on a Bohol tour . Badly damaged during the 2013 earthquake which resulted in the destruction of the famous shadow of jesus graphic. Still worth a visit though

A lovely old church, but damaged by an earthquake a few years ago, the church is now being kept from disintegration using scaffolding.
