Inspiring and inspirational visit in the Burgund-world-of-bubbles. Cremant de Bourgogne is to me a very nice bottle of sparkling wine - and here an excellent and informative presentation of the "story behind the bottle" Great place.

Great Facility for Crémant Veuve Ambal is a very modern production facility for Crémant, the French sparkling wine made outside of Champagne. On the outskirts of Beaune, this is a wonderful and informative tour, with a self-guided tour of the factory and a nice audio to explain the history of the family and what you’re seeing. And after the tour you get to sample the Crémant which is half the fun.

Pierre was so much fun and the wine was good! It was great to learn about the wines and then taste without knowing the winery or the cost.

Excellent self guided tour. Audio players were very modern. They automatically started the narration as you approached the stations. In addition, there were accompanying panels with in depth explanations in French, English and German. Factory tour showed all aspects of the production. Automation and robotic equipment was fascinating to watch. It was nice to be able to proceed at a comfortable pace and linger at points of interest. The tasting that followed included a range of crémant products, some of which we had never tried before because they are not readily available in the markets. Staff was pleasant and accommodating.

We visited the Veuve Ambal ‘factory’ in Beaune for a tour followed by a wine tasting. We hadn’t booked but were made welcome and the audio equipment was prepared for us. It is not a guided tour but the audio commentary and notes on the exhibits allow you you to proceed at your own pace, all the time being able to watch the bottling process. After the tour we returned to the shop where we were able to select from the wide range of sparkling wines produced by this family run firm for a tasting. White, rose and a sparkling red; brut, sec and demi-sec. The information sheet gave all the details you could want and the member of staff was able to answer any off the wall questions that we had. After tasting we bought our favourites, the car managed the extra weight, and we returned to our gite to continue the tasting!
