Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Superb visit to make. We chose the family visit with our young children who loved it. The guide Cassandra is very pleasant, patient with the sometimes very talkative children 😂 site which allows you to take lovely holiday souvenir photos. A must do!!

Staying in Nerac and visiting the historical sights of the local countryside and this bridge and mill were recommended. They are a classic Roman example of how far the Romans traveled and what they built. The bridge makes for beautiful pictures. The mill only can be visited by appointment. There are parks and benches nearby for a picnic or just to relax.

Such a friendly welcome. Evening drinks and a fabulous breakfast of freshly cooked pancakes. Very clean and fresh with every convenience. Christoph cannot do enough to help. Highly recommend this lovely place to stay.

A beautiful location by the river. Laurent is the perfect host and Sébastien an incredible chef. Thank you both and your staff for another fabulous meal.

We stayed with Christophe and Sophie just before our wedding in Chateau de Lisse. They were the kindest hosts imaginable and made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived! They don't have much English, but they invited us to share a few drinks with them and we got on great, chatting using the help of Google translate! some of the guests at our wedding stayed in Moulin des Tours over the weekend and Christophe even collected them after the wedding!
Hotel is within easy walking distance of Barbaste and there is plenty of parking available. The rooms are furnished to a very high standard and comfortable beds. The pool is refreshing and there is plenty of space to just relax. A fantastic stay - thank you so much Christophe and Sophie :-)

We parked, by accident, over the other side of the Roman bridge, in Barbaste itself. This allowed the fantastic views of the Mill. Booking is essential. The staff are efficient and some speak English, but some have no time to wait for any pathetic attempts of speaking school girl French. So be fluent, or don't bother. To be fair, they are too busy.
The dining experience is fantastic. The little touches, the extra tasting dishes and strong emphasis on local wine and produce makes this a wonderful dining experience.
We had booked and were sat on a large table near the front door. The rest of the customers were either outside, or further into the cave, around the corner. We didn't seem to feel the benefit of the coolness or any air con, so dress appropriately.
There were tasters, which were introduced with an explanation. A cold, carrot soup, a watermelon and ginger soup, to clear the palate and a small savoury muffin. All delightful.
We ordered from the menu, but chose the lunchtime one by mistake! There is a separate English menu, so no excuse really. All the food was wonderful, in flavour and presentation.
The wine was lovely. I had a white, sweet wine, but can't remember the name, unfortunately. Anything you chose would be lovely.
The meal was excellent value for money and not madly expensive either. We did start to panic at one point, as we thought it was going to be wildly expensive, but we were pleasantly surprised.

Very welcome
Very pleasant setting
Perfect service
High-end gastronomy
Would deserve a star
Very good value for money
A clarification
The Towers Mill is in Barbaste, not Nerac.
It is true that it is right next door.

Very nice building. I haven't visited the inside but the outside is worth the trip. I advise you to have a picnic and lunch along the river at the foot of the tower. The setting is really nice and a table is available.

The biggest disappointment of the 3 weeks of vacation with this insipid visit. We only visit a lower part with a few poorly maintained rooms. I don't recommend it especially for 3 euros per adult. To do for free and again...
