This cute little Artists Market it tucked away in a little pocket just off the main street in Fitzroy. The stalls have some beautifully made & hand-crafted pieces that aren't exorbitantly expensive given the hand made nature. Everyone is friendly and the market just has a really nice and open atmosphere.

Love this artists' street market! From homeware, pottery, plants, Jewellery, candles, to clothing & more! With both indoor & outdoor stalls, it made it easier to stay longer in summer. My fav is Sensilla soy candles handpoured in Melbourne, I love the Basil & Cucumber! There's a cool cafe at the entrance so grab a bite or drink while you're... More

Surprisingly- alot of the stalls (especially jewellery)is full of imported items and is ironically not hand made by local artists as the name of the market claims. One stall holder even told me she purchased the designs and has them made in china!!some of the jewellery is actually from websites like aliexpress.com and similar- Make sure you thoroughly check what... Great quality products at reasonable prices. Tucked away but well worth the time negotiating one way lanes to get there.

The market was amazing today (Sunday). It's opens at *11am* but there are plenty of cafes nearby with great coffee. The selection of art, jewelry, clothes and plants are great!

Staying in Ovolo hotel little Bourke st Melbourne. Yep great place to stay and a short walk to tram 86 which drops you at stop 20 Rose street Fitzroy. About a 10 min walk towards Nicholson st and the market is on the left. It has outdoor and undercover stalls, all nice, mainly jewellery but some great prints, candles and... More

Great market to explore with a focus on local art (paintings, jewellery etc). There is a cafe in the Market place (start here, grab a coffee and go for a wander). We came on a Sunday and the hours of trade are 11am-5pm. It's not overly big - will take you 30-45min at a slow pace to see all the... More

This is a small but jam-packed-full-of-goodness market with all sorts of locally made goods: jewelry, cards, art, clothing, tea, wallets, bags, planets, etc. Usually these sorts of places are more along the lines of flea markets or junky DIY projects, but not here - these are quality products made with care. An excellent place to buy gifts (or something for... More

Loved these markets in Fitzroy..product range was excellent! Fresh ideas, great pottery, wonderful jewelry, great artwork, wonderful vibe to the place. Only $15 taxi ride from the city, but you can catch a tram!

Staying in Fitzroy

Neighbourhood Profile
Fitzroy is an unusual blend of working class roots, hip gentrification, and a robust bohemian work ethic. Along Brunswick Street and its side streets, you'll find little independent shops where local clothes and furniture designers display their wares. There are specialist bookshops, funky record bars, and quality vintage clothing shops where browsing is the next best thing to buying. Gertrude Street is famous for its cuisine and art galleries, but if you want to buy an old-fashioned snooker table, there is a shop for that too. Small pubs still exist, tucked away on the corners of suburban side streets that serve up traditional Sunday roasts. Live music abounds, and the street performers play so hard you worry to tip them would ruin their concentration. Venture to the Spanish quarter on Johnston Street and you may even find street dancing. It is all happening amidst off-beat street murals and the shuffle of a very funky neighbourhood that embraces both old and new.
