The original glamour is plain to see, but a poor attempt at restoration. We were made welcome, and had a guide to ourselves for just 4 euros each (I think we got lucky), but I wouldn't go back. We didn't visit the nymphaeum or the water games, which I suspect are the piece de resistance of the place. We may... More

The hidden beauty of the Villa Litta in Lainate was breathtaking. The picturesque garden made us feel like to romantic lovers in a movie, strolling along the gorgeous grass banks surrounded by breathtaking sculptures and beautiful fountains. They even have a greenhouse where exquisite specialty flowers are grown. If you're looking for something to do while in Lainate area, this... More

One of Rome's most delightful and refine address. An exquisitely sophisticated simplicity that will undoubtedly suit the connoisseur. Intimate setting. No fancy fanfare. Just good taste. The restaurant has an equally exquisite cuisine. Italian recipes brought to a new high. A must when in Rome. The villa's garden is also an heaven of peace. Enjoy!

A beautiful spot. The guide was most enthusiastic and the tour was interesting. The grounds were gorgeous too. Worth checking out if you're close by.

I visited this hidden gem in August. As some other people mentioned, there is not much about this place in English and actually the visitors are mainly Italian. I would strongly suggest to go to the bookshop first and buy the small book/leaflet in English. This is what I have done and it helped a lot as the visit are... More

The water gardens, or ninfeo, are spectacular. I've only seen something larger at Peterhof Palace in Russia. There is so little written about it in English but it is a fabulous spot for visitors to Italy. The park, the Villa, the entire area is wonderful. I've heard that they have now restored the green houses to their splendor and they... More

I was at Villa Litta August 20. I decided to write a review in English because my astonishment among the many visitors there was no stranger. A real pity. The tour lasts about three hours, led by exceptional volunteers "Friends of Villa Litta". The Nymph is fun and surprise. Lainate is easy to reach and those who come to Milan... More

Been there twice already with both kids growing up. Probably will do it again. The place is gorgeous and the tour guides never disappoint.
