Sveta Gora near Nova Gorica in Slovenia is very nice loacation. There is Franciscan Church. That location has long and interesting history. View from Sveta Gora is perfect (Alpe Mountains, Nova Gorica....)

I was there with a local friend and is an amazing place, with an interesting history and beautiful view. If the sky is clear you can also see the sea. Beautiful place to see, because I love mountains and nature ans is surrounded by it.

It's not particularly rugged, although you could encounter some roots and stones. I think tennis or running shoes should be fine, as long as you watch your step.
