We parked here after driving around the treacherous mountian to Hvar town. We walked the grounds then down into the city. It has a nice view of the city and the city itself is large but walkable and has lots of good restaurants and shopping.

petar hektorović's house which later became a 'castle' has a nice garden and a beautiful pond inside. you pay to maintain it, not because it's an amazing place -- 500 years++ of history. and croatia's first toilet!
It's a small castle or better say villa which was made by/for Petar Hektorovic, famous Croatian poet. Beware that Tvrdalj is 450 years old.
