Very surprised to see how well the house had been renovated plus the lack of furniture gave a very different experience to that in other NT properties. The gardens were well looked after without being manicured to within an inch of life! Lots of produce...More

This is a lovely place and extremely interesting. Wonderful woodwork in the main house and beautiful gardens. We particularly liked the vegetable gardens and the "Gardeners Question time" recordings to listen to. We also had a lovely lunch in the cafe.

The house interior is impressive and the semi guided tour has a search to occupy children. The grounds are the most impressive part of the property - amazing! We stopped by the tearoom for lunch and it was pretty good. Parking on site is free.

Just beyond interesting Ilminster is the 500+ year old Tudor estate known as Barrington Court. Though, both in and out, restored beautifully in the 1920's Victorian mode largely by workers housed in the nearby town of the same name. The interior remains largely devoid of...More

The National Trust never disappoints. Have been here several times with visiting family and friends over the years. Sometimes enjoying a meal in the restaurant.
