Good shop and tearoom.

We always stop off here when driving through the fabulous Glenshee. The gift shop has a decent range of good quality clothing, gifts etc., and the cafe does excellent cakes and scones as well as hot snacks.

Break on way home

Having passed this establishment many a time, either early morning or late afternoon I have never had the opportunity to stop. Today my timing was perfect allowing an opportunity to call in and boy am I glad I did. Very pleasant environment with a small but interesting AND fresh menu - just perfect for the passing motorist. Between Bailrgowrie & Braemar this is undoubtedly THE place to stop so DON'T drive by - you'll appreciate all aspects of it.

Delightful, run by people who know what they are doing, and want to do it! Warmed by an aga and a great log burner. Delicious home made soup...,cock a leekie don’t see that on many menus. Homemade cakes that taste as good as they look. Lots of Knick knacks to buy if you so desire. Plenty of parking, plenty of charm. This place is probably even better if snowing. Thank you.

Waiting for the snow gates to open
Feb. 2018 • Family
When the doors opened, the cafe filled and they were non-stop with streams of customers. We were the second set of coffees and hot chocolate of the day and they were fine. No hot food (other than soup and baked potatoes) but the cakes and scones looked good. No opening times on the door, so think it is based on customer flow.

Popped in here last Saturday with my wife, for a look around, after having had refreshments at the 'Wee House of Glenshee' next door.
We were met and welcomed by the potter, a very pleasant lady. There is a small amount of pottery available, covering different themes, but as far as we could see the speciality appeared to be her little 'bothy' houses.
During our visit today there was also a Wildlife Artist who had an exhibition of her artwork set up, with her artwork being available to purchase. Some really stunning wildlife artwork.
A pleasant and interesting visit.

Wonderfully welcoming cafe & shop with brilliant food. Cyclist friendly.

Would have loved this place even if we hadn't arrived cold and wet after cycling over Glenshee. The welcome, despite our drookit state, was as warm as the super soup and the Aga we got to heat ourselves by. And to top it all, a selection of cakes that would be hard to beat.
The shop had good quality goods to match the food.

We stopped here on the way back from balmoral castle, just a spur of the moment stop, we had a nice cup of tea and a good look around the shop.

Less pottery more tat!
Jul. 2017 • Couples
Please be advised that the photo above are old (2011). The potter is semi retired and only makes a few things, these were tucked away in a corner. The rest of the shop is the usual tat that you get in spots like this in the highlands. They appear to be rebranding themselves. Don't go looking for pottery!
