This is a very interesting little local museum, mainly about salmon fishing but also some local Portsoy history. The volunteer ladies on our visit were very knowledgable and most friendly, especially when it transpired we had some common background in Portsoy.

The local volunteers we saw during our visit were helpful and interesting. There is no entrance...More

What a fantastic place, alot of history in here and staff take great pride in explaining everything. Found out how everything used to interlink years ago in the fishing industry. Definitely worth a visit.

Built in 1834, the Salmon Bothy is a now beautifully restored former working salmon house. The ground floor houses a museum dedicated to the history of Portsoy and the salmon industry. Two of the rooms downstairs have uneven cobbled floors, so wear flat shoes. Upstairs...More
