Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A picturesque, tree lined street in Milsons Point. This is bordered by Milson Park to the East and the leafy suburbs to the west. Quite a lovely place for a stroll.

A picture when the jacarandas are in full bloom, purple haze, purple carpet of slippery blossoms. A mecca for picture taking.

Easy, uplifting locations. Bring your camera.
63 Jacarandas and the Jacaranda Street Instagram Tunnel. From McDougall Street walk to Carabella Street andKirribilli Avenue, Kirribilli.
13 Very established Jacarandas at Watt Park, Lavender Bay. These beautiful trees hold some of the last blooms of the season.
28 Jacarandas at East Crescent and Warung Street, McMahons Point. A great Sydney Harbour Bridge photo opportunity at Blues Point.
10 Jacarandas at Fleet Park,Circular Quay. Close to Ferries, Trains and the historic end of the City.
5 Jacarandas and 3 over 160years old in the Royal Botanic Garden. A beautiful walk and backdrop to a spectacular Sydney Harbour outlook.
12 Jacarandas in the Sydney University grounds and adjacent Victoria Park. Open to the public with Glebe Markets on Saturdays.
57 Jacarandas in Bellevue Street,Cammeray. This is one for the future as the trees establish. Trees planted inthe middle of the road making for a future double Jacaranda Street tunnel....
73 Jacarandas around Victoria Barracks and Oxford St, Paddington. 14 old trees at the front gates offer the best photos in the chic Paddington suburb.

Jacarandas this season have been a dazzling show of purple all over Sydney! Especially in McDougall Street, Kirribilli. Big attraction.

It hasn't been a good jacaranda season but this is certainly one of the best streets in Sydney for them, with its perfect tunnel of old trees. To round it out, the adjoining Milson Park gives you more botanical enjoyment with interesting trees, some flower beds, and a veg garden.

We were there the wrong time of the year! We missed the blooming jacarandas, but a few were still worth a look. However the street looks lovely and one can just imagine how wonderful it would look with all its huge jacaranda trees in full bloom! Something not to be missed, but only at the right time of the year!

200m length of mature and in good health Jacaranda Trees lining both side of the public road (McDougall Street).

Trees are in full bloom in November and late October - and maybe early October/early December depending on the weather... Outside of these months do not bother; the street is leafy green, but not purple

Get there early in the morning for the best experience (less people) and better light. The afternoon the light creates long shadows as McDougall Street is an east/west street. Bring your camera, tripod, fancy costume to get the right photo.

Watch out for cars - the road is open to vehicles and with car parked on the side of the road, visibility is restricted. Especially during Monday to Friday when the schools are in.

There are toilets in Milsons Point park (adjacent the road), parking is available but I would be using the train - Milsons Point train Station is a 5 minute walk away.

One hour is the right amount of time (or less) to visit - for the rest of your time spend the day walking Kirribilli - in October/November the streets are at their best, visit Kirribilli Markets on the weekend, sit and drink coffee in the shadows of the harbour bridge or in Luna Park.
