You will appreciate the tour more fully if you visit the museum with it's short video prior to the tour, as recommended. Especially true, if you are not french fluent. The museum is very informative and offers english info, as well. The video offers english...More

hello and thank you for your opinion. You are right and we advise you to see the film presented at the museum before visiting the cave: it is a good introduction before you the paintings of the cave. See you soon in Pech Merle!

We took the 10;30am english tour and it was fantastic. The cave itself is beautiful, lots of stalactites/mites and beautiful colors. But come here for the cave paintings, some of the most beautiful anywhere. The tour lasts about an hour and feels a bit rushed,...More

Beautiful cave by itself. impressive stalagmite and stalagtite. But the most impressive are the drawings and paintings . Absolutely unbelievably painted more than 20000 years ago. Certainly a lost civilization

The tour guide did not translate anything in English even though she spoke English. We did receive a book with information but would had been nice if she translated a little information. The cave was very nice, but the staff was not.

Beautiful caves, amazing paintings and well worth a visit - did the tour, which was well managed and timed, unfortunately the tour guide did the whole tour in French, even through she was fluent in English and there were two other families who did not...More

Thanks to others for the warnings about booking in advance as this is the only way to visit in July and August. We booked one of the two English language tours that take place each day about a week in advance. The caves are quite...More

We visited the caves today and were wowed by what we saw - an unforgettable experience. I just wish the guide shared our enthusiasm - she couldn’t get us round and out quick enough. The most frustrating aspect though was that despite the guide being...More

thank you for this message and appreciation of your visit. The majority of tours are in French and we provide foreign-language visitors with a translated booklet in their own language. The limited duration of the visit to the cave does not allow for a presentation...More

My daughter and I found this cave system fascinating. We had booked a tour in English (at this time of year the website strongly recommends that tickets are booked beforehand) and spent an hour underground being shown the caverns, amazing rock formations and the prehistoric...More

We were lucky to get tickets via the tourist office in Luzech as the website repeatedly rejected my application. However it was worth the effort, the caves were fascinating and the guide was excellent.
