These people are the nicest people. They bent over backwards to make sure we would get good photographs of their reptile collection. We paid for 4 hours and they gave us 6 with an invite to come back the next day, which we did. The one hour they offered for free turned into 3 hours with offers of food and... More

The reptile and amphibian exhibits were fantastic. I teach senior high school biology and was able to take some great photos of rainforest specimens to show my students back in Australia. Staff very helpful and money well spent.

We spent about three and a half hours here as a group of volunteers from the Butterfly Conservatory. We learned so much awesome information from our guide, Esteban, and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. The animals are very well taken care of and look healthy and happy.

We went here on a rainy afternoon while staying at the nearby Arenal Observatory and Lodge. From the outside this place does not look like much and as the entrance price is relatively high we were not 100% convinced from the start. However, as soon as our tour got underway and we noticed how knowledgeable and friendly our guide was... More

My boyfriend and I came across this place while driving through the area and we are extremely glad we stopped in. This is a small, family operated business and a great learning experience. It was $23 per person for a guided tour around the grounds. Our guide Victor (a biology student) was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about all the animals... More

My husband and I went here with 2 children and we all had a great time. Victor Quesada Jnr has his Masters in Biology; currently writing his thesis and is incredibly knowledgeable about all types of reptiles, insects, mammals, etc. You have the opportunity to get close to all sorts of snakes, butterflies, turtles, frogs, etc. in this very intimate... We had to visit the zoo under rain but this did not stop our guide Miguel from taking the time and explaining each animal in detail. He answered all questions of my 7 year old daughter who did not stop asking. We learned a lot about the special animals in Costa Rica such as frogs, snakes and crocodiles with all... More

This place was pretty cool. We wanted something to pass an hour or so for a relaxing day. Steven had so much knowledge about the animals. We held a snake and learned a lot. I recommend going with the guide. You simply miss so much if you don't know what to look for and the interesting facts of the animals.... More

Did this tour with my family in September 2016, Our English Speaking Guide was very knowledgeable, the exhibits were amazing and it was fun to see things up close that you would not WANT to encounter in the wild!
