This is a salt mine with origins in Roman times. The mine is not operational but the visit inside is incredible. The temperature is about 10 degrees Celsius but I was not cold at all. You can descend to the bottom using a staircase or by elevators. In the lowest level there's a small lake where you can rent a... More

We visited the salt mine on Easter with a lot of hopes after having been informed about the important investment in the latest years. The salt mine is indeed beautiful. The lighting is very good very well underlying the amazing view over the lake and salt walls. On the other hand, we were really disappointing about the organization: absolutely no... More

Absolutely loved this place. We added an extra day to our road trip and ultimately drove an extra 10 hours to just see this place. It's an old salt mine converted into part museum, part amusement park. At the beginning a lovely guy gave us a run down of what to see and in which order. We were to walk... More

It is one of the most beautiful salt mine that you must visit. You have many things to do here therapy, play table tennis, minigolf or take a boat in the lake.

An absolute must-see for visitors to Cluj, the mine is a truly awe inspiring sight and gives an entertaining few hours exploring. What I liked: - the two huge mines that are open to tourists are breathtaking. The first you enter, off the passageway, is a huge square space with a Ferris wheel, crazy golf, table tennis and a gift... More

What a memorable experience. A man-made, enormous cavern in a block of salt. They've built an entire amusement park inside the place and have space for more. The temperature is constantly cool and humid, the lighting is haunting and beautiful, and the saline air is good for respiratory systems. Spend several hours just taking it in and bring a camera!... i walked the entire length of the top level tunnel before realizing i missed the entrance to the underground. once there however, it was quite a site, and you can't help wonder at the magnitude of work done as you find yourself inside of huge spaces burrowed into tremendous salt deposits. truly a wondrous experience. contrasted only by the amusement... We caught the Fany bus from Cluj. 40 min journey and only £1.40. Ask the driver to drop you off at the old entrance to the mine, its much closer. Entrance fee is £6.00 and well worth it. The main chamber of the mine has a 'wow' factor. We went in April and had the place to ourselves. Well worth... More

This was one of the few attractions available in the area so I decided to visit it. Went by taxi[was a bit expensive trip] but worth it. Lots of interesting artifacts to see, the history of salt mining in the area well demonstrated with actual tools used and picture gallery. The mine is not in use anymore so is being... More
