Day trip from Prague
Jul. 2019 • Friends
This is used to be a hospital, many years ago. The tour around the spectacular building takes about an hour. It is about 1.5 hours drive from Prague, but well worth the trip. There is also a very big herb garden to view.

The way of our life - pearl of baroque.
Jul. 2019 • Family
This astonishing pearl of baroque is so touching that you forget for a little time who you are and where you go...

Perfect she-guide soaked us into a history just with a little finger. She was professional and so friendly, didn’t have enough of her narrating.

I red a feedback that this visit is not recommended for children. I don’t think so! There wasn’t much telling about a death. My sons are small and very sensitive and they didn’t have any problem. They liked it and found it interesting. I am happy didn’t skip this Hospital trip because of this feedback. (Nearly did 😵)

This is a top historical reconstruction in last few years I saw. Really breathtaking. Beautiful herbal garden and when you walk out of the garden in the right top corner (with Hospital in your back) there you can find original Italian homemade delicious ice cream by the levandery. Also nice coffee and few drinks. I recommend do not miss it 😉

Not for children
Sep. 2018 • Solo
The best part of the visit for children is the train journey from Prague. I saw many bored children. The only ones who were enjoying themselves were on bikes enjoying the beautiful countryside.

There is a cafe that serves lunch of high quality food which includes Apple strudel to die for.

For adults there is plenty to see and learn on the excellent guided tour, sadly only in Czech.

Hospital Kuks
Sep. 2017 • Solo
The whole is in height in a perfect staging, around the central aisle and access stairs embellished with a waterfall. Baroque architecture, sculpture, landscape, everything is in harmony.
At the entrance, on a massive balustrade: statues signed Matyáš B. Braun. On one side, twelve of them symbolize the virtues of human nature, and on the other, twelve others symbolize vices. On the terrace you can see the allegory of the religion of Matyáš B. Braun. Carved in a block of sandstone of 5 tons, it is undoubtedly the most beautiful Baroque statue of the country.

The hospital of the Brothers of Charity, often called "castle", is more precisely a spa center built in 1695 by G.-B. Alliprandi. The lapidary of the old hospital houses the original works of Matyáš B. Braun (the others are copies). In the hospital are the Church of the Holy Trinity and its crypt. It was built after the hospital and houses the family vault Spór (the coffin of the count is pewter) and especially a unique work of Matyáš B. Braun: the wooden statue of Christ. You can also visit the baroque pharmacy of the hospital

Free parking near the hospital or in the village of Kuks .. Visits are with a guide ..Possibility of catering at the cafe - restaurant next to the parking of the hospital

For the complete visit it takes about 3 hours
