Playa de Bakio is the sand beach located in the coast of Bakio, a town in Bizkaia Region, in Basque Country. It is a large beach, where you can bath, sunbath, walk wit all family or only relax in summer, it is nice. Pitifully there are too many high building xlose to the beach, so it seems a 70's tourist beach. Behind the promenade is a bit bland but you can escape quickly on long cliff walks…

Left hand end has a good play area and less waves. Bars for snack / pinxos. Beautiful views towards "Game of Thrones" island. There is one ice cream shop mid way along the beach. Restaurants are further back. Good lifeguards advising on sea conditions.

The beach is not very big and the huge blocks of flats in the surrounding are quite awful but we really loved the unbeliavably clean water. What is more, this beach has lots less waves than other places in Biscaya so it's suitable for swimming.
