If you want to put together your own itinerary for an inn-to-inn hiking trip in Switzerland, Swiss Trails provides a flexible alternative to the limited options offered by most companies. We were very happy with the support from Swiss Trails for our five-day hike from Kreuzlingen to Eglisau in the region of Lake Constance and the upper Rhine. The same... More

My wife and I used Swiss Trails in support of a self-guided hiking trip for five beautiful days on the Via Rhenana, and we were pleased with the service. We were met promptly at the train station, per our request, by our luggage driver, and the same driver carried our luggage every day. Our luggage always arrived as promised before... More

It is hard to create the laundry list of what is wrong with this company without writing a small book. So, here is our experience blow by blow: - Arrived in Zurich (airport) and was met by the founder of the company. - En route to our nights lodging, the founder told us that he was trying to sell the... We hired Swisstrails to coordinate a 5 day hiking trip in the Swiss Alps for our family of four (kids ages 10 and 15). They were helpful in suggesting a route that would be a good fit with our kids and interests (there are many, many options for where to hike). Swisstrails arranged lodging for each night, with breakfast included,... More

Arrived at hotel to find no bike and no 'documents' as promised. Called and was assured the bike was at the rail station, which it was not. After much back and forth (3 more trips to rail station) they finally admitted the bike had not been sent. Meanwhile hotel found 'documents' including Heart Route maps for which they charge 30... We rented e-bikes and did the Heart Route in 2012, and just recently we and another couple (all of us in our 60's) rented e-bikes and did the challenging Alpine Route. What a fantastic experience. This won't be our last! Some reviews say they haven't been responsive but we have never had problems. Sometimes we wait a day or two... More

We found Swiss trails thorough, efficient and hospitable. They gave us an in depth briefing (in perfect English) before we set out and provided us with top notch bicycles. Our luggage was at our arrival destination each day before we arrived and the maps and directions were for the most part very good. The accommodations they booked us in were... More

This was my first trip to Europe. I was very excited to have a special mother teenage son adventure. I was extremely patient with the Swiss Trails company who may respond to an email every 3-4 days if I was lucky later while planning the trip. I was on the verge of cancelling with their lack of communication but my... More
