Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic day out, well worth the money. So many animals, so many toys and play areas for young kids. Staff super friendly. Will definitely go again soon

This was a great farm visit for our young children (4 and 6 years old). The kids were delighted to be able to start feeding farm animals right from the main entrance, even before buying entry tickets.

We bought some feed for the animals, and wee generally free to roam around the different enclosures and enter many of them to feed the animals.

The free short tractor ride around the farm was very enjoyable. The children were jumping up and down in the hay at the back.

We also paid for the pony rides ($5) which was one short loop per child. The kids were thrilled to have this ride. Helmets were provided for the ride.

Overall, a very nice visit to the farm.

Thank you so much for opening your farm and providing the Easter egg hunt for the little ones. I came to Rain Hayne and Shine when I was 4 (with my kinder) and I am now 34. To be able to bring my 2 nearly 3 year old was such a special moment.
Thank you for providing the opportunity for me to share this with my little boy. He has such a great morning and we got it all in just before the rain hit!
The staff were all so wonderful and accomodating

The farm itself was as expected, a real working farm, nothing much to comment there. The disappointment was with the egg hunt that my child was excited about. You collect plastic eggs, amount doesn’t matter, and at the end you exchange them for a bag of chocolate. Very fair idea. First there was a separate ‘hunt’ for toddlers where the plastic eggs were just placed all over the floor of a small fenced off area - fair enough. Then they had one for older kids and would you believe it, it was the exact same thing! Just eggs on the floor which they picked up in half a minute. We paid $10 for a bag from Aldi at half the price. I understand this is profit making, okay, but at least let the kids hunt for their eggs! That is what it’s all about.

This farm is a place for young children to have fun feeding and patting farm animals. Apart from rabbits and guinea pigs, there are other common farm animals to pat. Our two grand children, who are under four, had a great time. As the attention span of very young children is limited, a stay of around an hour is appropriate.

An absolutely amazing place! My kids loved the farm! I have a 5, 3 and 1 year old, and they absolutely loved it. From petting the animals to feeding them. They have a small area to hold the Guinea pigs, rabbits & rats. Definitely a must do with the children. The staff were very hospitable, my husband ordered 2 coffees and they brought it out to us (they weren’t that busy) which was really nice of them to do. We will definitely be coming back again!

We've visited all of the farm yards on the Peninsula, and Rain Hayne & Shine is one of our favourites. It's extremely hands on, you're able to hold and feed a variety of farm animals. In my opinion, it's not somewhere I would sit and have a picnic lunch. It's best to spend about 45 minutes to an hour enjoying all the sights & sounds of a real working farm.

Had a 2 year old birthday party here and it was easy, fun, and the staff were genuinely just lovely people that want you and your family to enjoy themselves. They’ve created a great environment for the kids so they can essentially run free, explore, play with animals, etc.
All the kids had such a fun time, really great way to spend the morning. Highly recommend for a fun activity with the kids.

Been to many kids farm but this is one of the more interactive ones where you can get close to the animals. You can enter most paddocks and mingle with the animals. The padding house has lots of little animals including piglets and free roaming turkeys which the kids can feed, interact and even pick up (small ones). Grown ups can also enjoy casual Strolls around the ponds and paddocks, with a couple of free strolling ponies and donkeys. Tractor ride is included but horse riding extra - pony only $5 and horse $10 for 2 laps. Park is Not as big as some but also a bit more causal and less commercial. Bring food for picnic as not a lot of food options onsite.

We just took 60 Prep students to Rain, Hayne and Shine and hade a marvellous fun and educational day! The information given and the hands on experiences and opportunities were so worthwhile. As a prep teacher I have taken kids to other farms, but from now on will only bring kids here to get such an authentic day! Father Sue was terrific! I will encourage our families to return in holidays! Thanks so much Farmer Sue!😀
