京浜急行の大森海岸駅と平和島駅の中間、八幡通り沿いにあるお寺です。山門は木造で歴史がありそうですが、お寺の本堂は新しくてとても近代的な感じです。

密厳院は、大森海岸駅から徒歩7分のところにある真言宗智山派の寺院です。3月に大森近辺を散策した時に参拝しました。都会の中にある近代的な建物の寺院です。1448年に創建された歴史ある寺院です。玉川八十八ヶ所霊場の第七十六番札所となっています。境内には、八百屋お七（恋の為に放火し、江戸の大火を引き起こしたため、鈴ヶ森刑場で処刑された）の霊を慰めるために建立された「お七地蔵」が祀られています。大田区指定文化財となっています。神社仏閣に興味がある方は参拝されては如何でしょうか？

大森北にある真言宗のお寺で創建は1448年ということだが、建物は平成時代に建て替えられたようで、山門はそこそこ情緒があるが、本堂は古いお寺の面影はないというか、近代的すぎて違和感がある。行った時は、法事らしきものが行われており、何となく葬儀のためのお寺という印象であった。

八幡山密厳院 本尊は不動明王 近代的な建物は平成末期に建て替えられたもの 高い外壁に囲まれた墓地がある 近代的建物は一流企業の研修所の如き高級感があり、三葉葵の御紋章が入っている 徳川家と何らかの繋がりがあるのだろうか

JR大森駅から見るとイトーヨーカドーの右方向、八幡通り沿いの7-11向かい側になる茶色のビルとマンションの間に、小さめの古めかしい門が建っています。古いお寺を想像しながら進むと、それを覆すように「みつごんいん」の本堂は近代的で、少々違和感も覚えるほどでした。
屋根を据えた一画に、お地蔵様や高札が立ち並び、八百屋お七のお七地蔵があります。よく見ないとわかりませんが、振袖姿のお七地蔵が珍しく、もの哀しく見えました。

建物は期待しないほうが良い。院がイメージできうるのは門くらいだろうか。好色五人女に興味がある方には、行ってみるといいかもしれない。
