Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing place, quiet and peaceful. And loaded with kitsunes! So far my favorite temple. Recommend to go there in the morning, when it’s more or less empty

I was wandering around the neighborhood pondering and came across this shrine by accident. Totally worth the stop. While it is not as bombastic as other shrines, it has a lot of character. I can recommend it if you happen to be in the area and would like to give yourself a break from chaos.

In the center of the city, where skyscrapers line the streets, there are dark green trees, bright red banners and torii gates, and countless stone statues of foxes, creating a mysterious atmosphere. The precincts of the temple are small, and it takes less than 30 minutes to walk around. Even so, the temple attracts visitors as if they are drawn to it (of course, there are many tourists from overseas).
The Aoyama-dori Avenue in front of the temple is crowded with cars, especially on weekdays, so the hustle and bustle of the city center is not completely blocked out, but even so, once you enter the temple grounds, you will feel naturally calmer. The precincts are dotted with small shrines, and there are few explanatory notes for them, but it might be a good idea to just stroll around as you feel, without daring to refer to any such information.

It was a Buddhist temple. Absolutely picturesque. A well maintained Shrine for praying for good health, happiness relationship and much more. Full of fox statues. The red banners fluttering were erected by petitioners for health, safety and wealth.

I have visited many Temples and Shrines, but this has had the strongest impact on me. Maybe it is the location or the omnipresence of Inari = Shinto God Foxes that protect the place. There are literally thousands of statues that vary in sizes. It is a Buddhist Temple and Shinto Shrine combined. This is what I love about Japanese culture; the two religions complement each other instead of usual fighting. I am not going to quote the history; not enough space and you can Google it if interested. There is a main Shrine and many smaller ones, hidden away amongst trees and those countless Foxes. Total tranquillity. I spent hours there, just breathing the atmosphere in. You can take photos. I did not do it as it felt somehow offensive to me to click while people were praying. Keep your voice down and remember not to walk in though the centre of Torii - this is for Gods only. We mortals enter on the sides. Manners are important. I thought that I was familiar with the Customs, but this time I visited the place with my Japanese friend, who corrected mistakes I had no idea I was making. Nobody will tell you off, but it is only polite to do some reading before visiting divine places like this one. I really liked this place as it is not so 'touristy' as many other famousTemples I have previously visited in Tokyo and Kyoto. Almost 'homely'. If not interested in Art or History - just sit on the bench and forget that there is a crazy life happening only few meters away. It is an Oasis.

Peaceful area in the city. Multitudes of dog statues. There are altars for praying. you throw some money in a trough, ring a bell clap two times and pray. Beautiful dogs with red bibs.

Peaceful spot in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. Lovely shrines and sculptures. Really great dragon head spouts on the ablutions fountain.

Dropped by here after nail salon. Small shrine but cozy. They have tiny waterfall and you can "wash" your own coin to make a wish become $$.
The thing I love the most is not the amulet but the way they show.
