This would be a place to visit as a tourist. There are many reasons but a few are highlighted below: Food/Drink - great location whether looking for a romantic meal or a quick coffee to watch the people go by. Shopping - great location for duty free shopping for tourists. Make sure you clear your credit card...! Take advantage of... More

People go for different reason to Odaiba . Most Asian travelers come for shopping, you will see them arriving with empty suitcases and leaving packed and overloaded with goods. Before I became a mom I used to hang out on the little beach side for evening picnics or took visitors via boat from Asakusa temple over to watch the sunrise... More

We took the train to Odaiba and wandered around for a couple of hours before catching the river bus (ferry) up the Sumida River to Asakusa. Odaiba has the only beach in Tokyo. It is sandy and nice to walk along but you can't swim there. We were told its too deep but I suspect it is also unhealthy. However,... More

It didn't excite me too much..you can find a little New York there and a big shopping mall. The only thing that liked me was the monorail to come back to the town

Take the Yurikamome line to Odaiba, be sure to try and get a seat in the front and enjoy the view. Loved to see Rainbow bridge, stroll along the water, shopping at the malls and see the landmarks here. Be sure to visit the onsen! You won't get bored here.

It's a huge entertainment area in Tokyo. Like other places it is very convenient to reach there. Plenty of food options, plenty of indoor entertainment and plenty of sight seeing places. There is a free shuttle bus as well.

I didn't like this place. It is very dull and it was a waste of a day in Tokyo. There are far much better places to visit. The only plus side was the rain

Good way to fill in a 'rainy' day. If you are time conscious, then you could easily give this a miss and not feel that you missed anything.

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighbourhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
