good neighborhood to explore with a nightlife and luxury shopping

the hills are a great area for the view and the luxury shopping. the nightlife is cool although a lot of lady bars so more targeted for international men travellers

Not worth the time to visit, not family friendly. Use to live there twenty years ago and was worth a visit to see how the place has changed

We went to Ropongi Hills in the afternoon and were not sure what to expect. We had a fabulous time! We had a nice halal lunch at the local restaurant then went to the hills. There was a giant spider statue which amused our toddler who loves spiders! Then we found the family room which had a soft play area... More

Roppongi is a great area to visit while in Tokyo. There is a great deal to do with a lot of nightlife and restaurants. It wasn't overly crowded while I was there.

Every big city has one of these places. Not much to see during the day and seedy at night. I was offered coke by a seedy Romanian about 2 minutes after getting off the train. If you want the strip club scene etc that every big city has I'm sure this place will suit but it just seemed full of... More

I had a few hours left on my day transit pass from the airport, so I decided to make a quick dash to Roppongi. As soon as you emerge from the Roppongi station, you are swamped by people try to peddle their unsavory shops and businesses very aggressively. It's literally like the red-light district of the city. I was hoping... More

Not a good place for family. You can visit with friends. I will suggest not to interact with anybody. Just visit the street have a walk and come back. ...night life activities are available.

If you are looking for a good time at night make sure you head to Roppongi especially on a Friday night. The area is bustling and full of life.

The area is a mix of trendy new buildings and old fashioned side streets, and so interesting in itself. But it is neither for traditional sights or for top night-life (Roppongi Hill is too Western).

Staying in Akasaka / Roppongi

Neighbourhood Profile
Akasaka / Roppongi
Not so long ago the Akasaka and Roppongi areas were famous for their nightlife, high-class restaurants, bars and clubs. More recently, with the opening of Roppongi Hills, Tokyo Midtown and Akasaka Sacas, the area has declared itself as the most fashionable spot to be seen. The area also hosts the National Art Center and the Mori Art Museum and lots of trendy art galleries.
