I experienced my very first Ikebana lesson at Hiromi's. She was very kind, friendly, and patient with a complete beginner like myself. She is fluent in Japanese and English as she taught in USA and UK, so she was great at explaining each process in detail. Hiromi taught me the basics thoroughly from how to hold the scissors, how to cut flowers, and most importantly the basics of Ikenaba arrangement with a text book (provided during the lesson). For those that want to do it seriously over time or eventually make it into a profession, there is an option to accumulate points / stamps to get certifications when you purchase a text book. Hiromi is not only a teacher, but also licensed to teach other Ikebana teachers, so she is as professional as one can get in the flower industry. . She's young and always creating new Ikebana art work, developing and expressing her style in exhibitions and demonstrations which is very interesting to see. I also love how the lesson takes place in a very traditional Japanese room inside a westernized home. The location is in Central Tokyo, and you can request when to take lessons which was very convenient as well. Highly recommend Hiromi's lessons for those that want to try Ikebana, as well as those that want to seriously get into the profession.

A truly Beautiful experience. Set in Serene traditional home. Instructor who speaks excellent English kindly and simply explained ikebana principals and provided stunning flowers and vases to work with. Very meditative with great creative ideas. I can replicate this at home very easily. Traditional Matcha Tea and interesting conversation a bonus in this private session

My wife and I were always interested in learning “Ikebana” which is an authentic and traditional floral arrangements in Japan.

Hiromi kindly shared us the basic elements of ikebana and taught us how to arrange/design flowers which essentially is a form of meditation.

She spoke fluent English and everything that was shared to us was very easy to understand. Also, the lesson takes place in central area of Tokyo so attending the lesson was not a hassle at all.

Highly recommended for everyone who wants to learn from the basics of Ikebana as well as for people whom are already accustomed to the art as Hiromi is an excellent teacher.

I have joined flower arrangement class seceral times in my country, but those classes were only about western style flower arrangement. Actually I didn’t know what was Ikebana before I took Hiromi’s class. I was able to learn how to do flower arrangement in Japanese traditional style through her class. It is totally different from western style. It was very special experience and I was able to feel and enjoy Japanese culture. And Hiromi is not only very professional, but also patient. So you don’t need to worry about her class, even if you were a totally beginner.
One more important thing is.. since I have a little girl, so I joined her class with my 9 month old baby. But there was no problem and Hiromi was so helpful. I’m very thankful and I’d love to take her class again someday.

I went to Hiromi's ikebana class last year. I had zero experience doing ikebana before, so I was a little nervous. But after the first day of lesson, I started to look forward to next lessons every week. The flowers I worked with looked always very fresh and beautiful, and it was so fun to work with different kinds of flowers. Hiromi's instructions were very easy to understand, and she gave lots of tips about how to improve my work. She is very nice teacher who is always willing to help you learn more. I'm very thankful that I got to learn about ikebana under such an awesome teacher. I posted some pictures of ikebana I did during the lesson.

It was my first Ikebana class and Hiromi has made the experience so memorable! She is very professional and knowledgeable yet very friendly and approachable. She explained the theory and demonstrate clearly then allow us to practice while giving a very clear guide throughout the process. At the end of the class, I was able to make a basic ikebana arrangement and was really pleased with the result. I totally recommended her class!!!

When you hear "Ikebana," you may think it's intimidating, but the teachers and students have a friendly atmosphere and it's easy to attend, so I've taken the class several times.

I'm grateful that I can receive careful instruction even though I'm a beginner and have little knowledge of flowers (^^)

On this day, I made Ikebana on Mt. Kenzan using tulips and Japanese dogwood. Each time, I get to touch the flowers that change with the season, which has a great healing effect!

It's a rich time that makes me feel glad to be born Japanese.
