Great experience visiting the museum as they were exhibiting the works of Yoko Ono pre 1969. Though not a fan, I could appreciate some of her art. Worth a visit.

Unfortunately I found this place to be very soulless and after travelling across the city to see the artwork was a little disappointed when 1 I couldn't take many photos and 2 no cafe, bar or such likes to sit back and absorb.

Really enjoyed the permanent collection and Yoko Ono's exhibit (until 02.14). Excellent museum, and I have to say I didn't know too much about Yoko Ono's work prior to my visit but it was truly great. Touching, funny, brave... Highly recommended! Also saw the Tokyo exhibit which was also worth a see, but my head was too full by then... More

Really enjoyed our visit here. The architecture doesn't overpower the gallery spaces. Top flight temporary exhibits. Will surely return.

The exhibit called "Tokyo" and the Yoko Ono exhibit were really neat, don't miss them, if you're going to take pictures: be careful, they are not fans. It's pretty far from everything but how roomy it is makes up for that! It was cool to see a different part of Tokyo I would have missed otherwise (a pretty dead part,... More

I have been to this museum 4 times and I always enjoy it. Exhibits change frequently and there is always lots of thought provoking or just super cool installations. They have turned me on to so many artists from Japan and around the world. I can't wait to go back next year, keep up the good work MOT!

Featuring amazing huge spaces, special exhibitions and a couple of cafes. Based within an equally impressive building next to a park.

I visited the museum when I had a free afternoon from business meetings during my stay in Tokyo. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, and as a special treat, there was an Oscar Niemeyer exhibition showing at the time. Since I enjoy Niemeyer's work, this was a real pleasure. If you have a chance, take a trip to the museum.... More

I go here at least once, whenever I am back in Koto Ward. The museum rates up with the major moderns of the world. There are always fresh exhibits, and the permanent collection is also thought-provoking. On my last visit, they featured postwar expression through events like the protests surrounding the 1970 Expo, and an Oscar Niemeyer (creator of Brasilia)... More
