Great place to visit if you love to eat fresh fish or sushi. Choose from a variety of welcoming shops and restaurants. Fish is also sold in this market but be sure to arrive early as the best fish tends to sell out early in the morning.

We intended to go there for breakfast, but made the mistake of having reserved an Omakase sushi meal for lunch on the same day. Do go there with an empty stomach so that you can try all the goodies they have on offer! From meals...More

Once you're out from the taxi, you know exactly where you are from the briny fish smells. The tuna auction was closed from 1 December 2017, my birthday, to sometime in January 2018 and the only announcement was in Japanese at the guard office. I...More

This is the place to be if you are a foodie for Japanese seafood. Went there at 700 for breakfast where it was devoid of tourists and ate a wonderful sushi breakfast at around 1400 yen per person that was very filling and delicious ....More

My family went Tsukiji Fish Market on 1 June 2018. This is actually the local fish market where many restaurant owners will bid for the freshest Bluefin tuna and also the world's most expensive fish. After touching down Tokyo the night before, my family decided...More

An amazing place to visit. World famous for the Tuna auction. It's a working market, and they don't encourage tourism, however, two small groups are allowed a tour each morning. Get there early though, tours start just before 7am but both groups are full before...More

If you see a lot of tourists and only people buying snacks you are visiting the more touristy food market. If you really want to witness the buying and selling of fresh fish you have to move a bit further. The window to visit the...More

This place is so interesting. It’s been around forever, and functions 5 days/week (not Sunday or Wednesday), with millions of dollars of trade every year. The public are allowed in at 11am, and although the tuna auction is long over (5am), there are still many...More

The Tokyo Metropolitan Central Wholesale Market, is commonly known as the Tsukiji Fish Marke. Government regulation prohibit tourists from watching the tuna actions in the early morning. It was fun to explore the area around the auctions in the Jogai open-air market, and wander among...More

Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi
Ginza is famous for being a trendy hotspot, but it's
also a downtown area with shops that were founded over
a hundred years ago. Department stores and luxury
boutiques line the route from Nihonbashi to Ginza.
It's a long established tradition to shop and stroll
while the road is closed to traffic. Luxury hotels,
world class cuisine from talented chefs, and a
collection of glitzy clubs will make this area popular
