Neighbourhood: Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.

We needed to find a place to chill after walking under the humid and hot Tokyo weather and found this spot. It’s fun even for adults!

TAITO Station Akihabara is a crane machine lover's dream come true. The variety and abundance of crane machines are astounding, offering the chance to win coveted prizes. The exhilarating challenge, coupled with the vibrant atmosphere, creates an addictive gaming experience. A must-visit for crane game enthusiasts in Akihabara.

Went there about 10mins past opening time, walked around abit to see what’s going on, tried a few machines and had abit of fun. On the last machine I tried I left my IC card behind.
I figured out I left it behind literally the moment I walked from the machine to the stairs leading down. I turned back and headed to the machine to check but it wasn’t there. There was a staff member there so I asked him if he had found it. Bear in mind he saw me leave the damn machine and there wasn’t anybody else on the floor.
I asked him if he had seen the card I had left behind and he kept questioning me on the value of the card. How is it reasonable for someone to remember the exact value on the card. Plus he has seen me leave the machine and I’m probably the first customer of the day. We spent a good 5 minutes just arguing about the value of some stupid card until he finally showed that he had found it.

As a Retro Gaming fanatic, I was hoping to see some classic arcade oldies. At least a Space Invaders cabinet, as the big logo outside suggests. Sadly,it is just another Pachinko mess. There is absolutely nothing there from the old Taito Corporation, not even a single reference. If you are nostalgic, you´ll need Super Potato.

Noisy as all hell the gaming floors. The ground floor, as you know these machines are rigged that have the hooks on them, so don’t waste your money.
My ears were ringing within half an hour, so now I understand why the locals wear headphones. It is such a put off and doesn’t encourage anyone stay and game.
Not a fan of this place at all!
