The Wine Museum is the oldest winery in the Canary Islands and one of the ten oldest in Spain. The current owners are the fifth generation of a family who bought it from another family in 1880. It's placed in the protected zone of "La Geria" which was covered with lava and ash after the volcanic eruptions from 1730 to 1736. Inside, you will find wine presses, pumps, crushers, stills ... etc., everything from the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. We invite you on a walk through our vineyard in the heart of la Geria and to taste our Wines. Come and visit our winery, we will be pleased to attend you

Fascinating Winery

Amazing to see how grapes are grown on this volcanic island. There were plenty of good wines to taste and it proved to be a worthwhile excursion from our Celebrity Cruise.

This is a newly created centre and is part of a network of museums created to protect nature and experiment with the beauty of the island. This is an underwater art museum and all the sculptures are made of concrete - and they must been seen to be believed, it is not yet fully completed, I'm sure that it will... More

We came to El Grifo to taste some nice wines, and it was a very enjoyable experience. At first we thought that the tasting area was very small, but behind the small bar there is a very nice tarrace and indoor area where you can enjoy your wines. For 11 euros you can taste 6 wines, and get some complimentary... More

if you visit one winery in Lanzarote visit this one. El Grifo is among the top wines of the island and the white 'seco' can stand next to any good Italian wine.

What a great trip, the people were very friendly all the way through and very helpful. We opted for the E15 for two people tour that included the sampling of 6 wines, the perfect choice as it turned out. The place itself is fascinating and don't miss the outside element of walking through the vineyard and cactus garden. That bit... More

We booked onto the final tour of the day and really enjoyed it. Our guide, who spoke quickly with an English accent (sorry I have forgotten her name) was really knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly. The museum is well laid out and the tour of the vineyard was very worthwhile. We were really impressed with the 200 year old moscatel vines,... More

On arrival we were immediately greeted by very friendly staff to told us about the tours available, both guided and self-guided, as well as all the tasting options. We opted for the self guided and found it both easy to follow and more interesting than may vineyards we've been to previously. Everything was well laid out and explained. They also... More

I would suggest this museum for wine lovers since you will be smelling and tasting different wines. You can take a look at the vineyards and see all of the equipment used to make wine.

Helpful, knowledgeable (sp?) staff. Interesting museum and excellent wine. We only called in to buy some 'semi-sweet' white but after buying what we wanted we were offered a glass each on the casa and invited to sit on the terrace. Nice.
