We parked on a side street near the marina and had a steady walk taking in the views as we got higher. Takes about 20- 30 mins steady walking. The castle is free to enter and the armour displays and photos of the past are...More

With a lift that takes you from sea front to the top of the castle this is great for those who cannot make the long trek. The rambling nature of the castle, with beautiful views at almost every corner, gives a real feeling of an...More

Lift costs 2 euros 70 up to the top, but it's free to come down. Walk up if you have a bit of stamina, explore and then have a coffee on the lovely terrace of the café overlooking Alicante.

There is no entry fee. You can walk up a path or you can pay to take an elevator that is accessible from the street level across fom Postiguet beach.

The walk takes about 45 minutes (normal pace). The lift is only 2.7 euro but is free if one is 65 or over and can show ID.

While there are steps to some areas even going to the top & looking around is worth it. Just ask at the bottom as the lift can take you all the way up then it makes it easier coming down.
