Unbelievable to think how this was ever made. Amazing to think that this castle was built hundreds of years ago. Certainly the best time to go there is in the winter months, I'd certainly struggle in the summer heat. Fantastic panoramic views of the Alicante region.

An impressive Castle which has been very well preserved. Well worth the climb up for the views! There are plenty of stopping places if you do need the rest.

This morning my 18 year old daughter and I decided to visit the castle. When in Alicante there is no escaping the view of the castle looming over the city it is a beautiful sight and of course it is rated the no. 1 on every travel site on the internet. It is possible to take the elevator up for... More

This is a good place to visit for history enthusiasts . Access from sea front through a tunnel then a lift to save the legs . Access and egress from rear up steep paths . Spectacular views of city and coastline from the top . Snack and drinks available .

Very well conserved castle with beautiful views of Alicante. There's a bar at the top and some souvenir shops. It can get very hot during the summer months so plan your visit early or late during the day.

Decided to visit the castle whilst we were in Alicante. Read the reviews on tripadvisor to help us decide between the walking and the lift up. We decided to walk to the top. It wasn't that bad! We walked along the front of the promenade and then up the back of the castle. It was a good little walk up.... More

We decided to walk - slowly - up to the castle. Some of the walk was on the road, which I was initially unhappy about, but the road was very quiet and there was no problem. It an interesting castle to look around. The views from the top are outstanding. There are 2 cafes - one for drinks, one for... More

This excursion has something for everyone. Go from the beach through a transparent loop, ride in a transparent elevator, enter a tunnel and you are there where there are rocks to climb, historical exhibits to look at,nooks and crannies to explore, and awe-inspiring views of land and sea. It,s truly a castle for histoy buffs and photographers. What's more, there's... More
