You just know it will have bags of history. And the chance to go mad with your camera - loads and loads of photograph opportunities. I would stress to use the internal lift to visit the castle makes it a lot easier

We went up to the Castle on segways, which was fun/scary-going back down the steep grade being difficult. But the views were well worth it, 360 degrees of beauty. The town, the distant mountains, the harbor and the water.

I recommend you to walk up to the castle thru the old town and down on the walls instead of taking the elevator. The vies from the castle are spectacular. There is one restaurant serving drinks and food. Nice place to rest your feet after the long walk and also quite descent prices. There are toilets at two or more... More

We hiked up to the castle from the back side along a wild path with lots of cool plants and rocks. definitely more fun than taking the elevator!
