Great views.

Access is easy by the elevator which costs €2.70 but is free if you are >65 and have your passport with you. 2 nice cafes to enjoy a drink before walking back down the hill.

Take the lift up to Castle. Costs 3 euros and free to come down again. Amazing views from top of castle. A lovely walk back down takes you into centre of Alicante - quite a steep walk though and definitely not for the infirm. A great place to spend a few hours walking around.

What a great place to visit and well worth the effort in the long walk up. The views over Alicante are fantastic but it's the castle its self that's the winner. Covers a very large area so plenty of interesting things to see and a good few information boards to enhance your visit. There's also a couple of cafes which... More

Once a year I try to visit this castle. When you're early on a week day you can park your car very close, if not : prepare yourself for a uphill walk. When you're on top of the hill you have a wonderful view over Alicante and his surroundings.

We visited Castle of Santa Barbara in March 2017. Weather was not in our side, it was a bit windy and cloudy day - but it did not matter because the views were still great. I can recommed the cafeteria at the "1st floor".

The castle is the tourist attraction of Alicante. For 2,70€ you can take the elevator up to the castle. Once there you have an amazing view of the city and its surrounding area. On hot days it can be challenging to walk around there. I wouldn't advise somebody with bad health doing that. On cooler days it's a good option.... More

We drove our car right up to the entrance in the evening and found parking right there, so I recommend going later if possible to avoid the crowds. Rode the elevator up to the main level of the castle. This castle is large with 2 distinct sections to visit. We pretty much had the place to ourselves, which we liked,... More

Came here for a wander of an evening, was fun, took the lift as couldn't face the steep walk. Views were excellent and the cafes were good value, overall a good few hours entertainment for all the family.
