We were staying in LasCaletillason the north east coast of Teneriffe. We walked following the coast line, lots bars, cafes, shops ,passing through main street into Candelaria, always with the Basilica in view. As you aproach the whole area opens out into a huge square, dominated by the Basilica. No entry fee ,but donations to all icons are appreciated. This is the Basilica of the... More

A combination of very modern paintings and paintings from the 1500's.It's a place of pilgrimage. Very peaceful and special location whatever your faith.

Away from the usual bustle of the holiday resorts on Tenerife this is well worth a visit. The beauty and calm inside the Basilica give a respite from the crowds and the heat of day. Other than when the occasional coach brings in a load of tourist for a short visit this is a haven of calm and is well... More

Great to see the history of Tenerife in this charming setting. A lovely Basilica and impressive statues of the 9 Kings of Tenerife.

Although we have been here before to see The Black Madonna it is the tranquility to worship in the cool atmosphere of a place bathed in prayer. Enter and sit, contemplate and thank God for his love and grace.

Driving around the coastal road we decided to visit this pretty church. It is on the waterfront with a large square in front with an army of statues protecting it. I believe it is home to the patron saint of Tenerife. Inside there are some lovely stain glass windows and alcoves with saints inside. After looking around the church we... More

Maybe this review is wrong as I'm not religious but we was in and out within 10mins, yes the building and architecture was amazing we just found that there really wasn't much to look at, more history or the building would have been good to try and get a full understanding why this building sits in its place.
