Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very nice place ... superb location.. amid mountains and forests .. good choice for a day trip from Madrid with friends and family
The scriptures made of grass and plants are world class ... fine finishing .. theme based zones and a very interesting maze
Plenty of sit out area inside and Plenty of parking space outside
Washroom was clean and maintained
How to reach - Best way is by car
On public transportation from Madrid you need to come to San Martin de valdeiglasis (small town) by Bus, and then walk up the hill (almost 2 KM)
Though it’s really pleasant walk , though little tiring
It takes around 1 hour and 15 minuets to reach from Principie Pio station Madrid to this small yet beautiful town
Only week aspect the very few (close to no) food option, there is cafe that serve nice Coffee, beer and refreshments... though it is also (named as) pizzeria, but pizza is not always available...
So high recommendation that you carry some food (or you have to climb down to town for food)
Nice place to spend 2-4 hours

A bit expensive for my liking, we had to pay 11 euros per person!! We went there last summer, the place was fine, big and spacious. You can see sculptures made of plants and also a wide array of cactuses. Bring food and drinks as the prices inside the park are quite steep

We went from 7, during the day; until 10 at night, we had dinner there with food we brought and had two beers (€2). The site is spectacular, illuminated and before. The streams, the ponds, the benches, the paths, the trees and bushes... all very well cared for. It is an unpaved park, it is normal that it is not perfect. It is not the Retiro nor does it want to be. It is in the middle of nature
The kids loved it

We decided to go one night and unfortunately I cannot give a positive review, leaving aside the access road, the place itself charges you for the night only if you want to have a drink, its options are very limited, the visit inside is not signposted so you go around on a very slippery surface, but the worst thing is when you leave at 00:30, because they warn you that the lights are going to go out and it is literally, WITHOUT LIGHTS to show you the way you have to go out. so you don't see any obstacles there are. Making it very easy to fall. As was my case.
I imagine that you have not heard of signaling on these occasions so that you can leave without turning around and without risk. If you go with children or elderly people at that time, it is dangerous

Such a neat place, which allows dogs. There are picnic spots but I recommend that you take your own food. The sculptures are well maintained, as is the rest of the park. It is quite large, so use the map if you want to see everything. It is an easy walk around. They really have placed some cute little touches to make it feel like it is an enchanted forest. For example, fairy houses or doors on dress (adorable!) or they place sound effects on some of the sculptures. It's a hidden little gem. Fun for all ages.

An animated story for children and a very pleasant experience for adults.
The advantage of winter is that the sun sets early and we were able to enjoy the daytime show (botanical species very well displayed) and the nighttime show, with the games of lights that gave it a special mystery and magic.
Even though we didn't bring children, we enjoyed it very much.

It is disappointing to see how unprepared this business was to provide the promised experience. The web page (not responsive, do not try on a mobile device, even though as a visitor that is the most likely device you would use to browse it) anticipates what will be a constant during your visit: canned, uninterrupted, unwanted background music. But first things first.
- Pre-purchasing your tickets. You can, and you get nice QR codes to self-print. Then, once on site, you get to the queue. Potentially a long one. Only when you have been queuing for a while you will see that there are two lines: one for credit card payments, and another one for cash payments. And for prepaid tickets? None, you queue like everyone else. You start to wonder what the advantage of pre-purchasing is, given that no maximum visitor quota is displayed nor enforced, given the extremely crowded conditions we found on the day. So once you get to the window, you produce your QR codes which will be... quickly scanned? No! Manually inspected and cross-checked against a paper list. Pen and paper is the tool of choice to check your QR, internet pre-purchased tickets.
- Access. By now, just as you queued, you will have already experienced another drawback that will continue to bother you throughout: the entire site is not easily accessible. Wheelchair and pushchair users beware, it's not going to be easy. Not just because the site is not well prepared, but because the map contains very poor indications of what is and isn't possible on wheels or with limited mobility.
- Services. You can bring your own food and drink if using the designated picnic tables. In the cafe area, you are not allowed to bring your own stuff, not even drinks. On the day of our visit, at the cafe we were told that no coffee was being served, because the machine was broken. I get that, machines break. But if you run a business where you FORBID to bring drinks, then some REDUNDANCY should be in there as well. So no coffee, no tea, no hot drinks at all, period. No alternative. No backup. Deal with it. The machine is broken.
- The sound of silence. You should look for that elsewhere. A peaceful experience seems to be part of the promise, but in fact, you will be served canned music solidly through the entire visit. You can run but you can't hide, as the PA system reaches the entire site. There are many birds on and around the site, but their singing is drowned by music. You don't like the music, or after half an hour you are bored of it? Deal with it. The music stays.
- Customer care. Say you forgot something in the car and need to bring it on site. Like nappies, or an aspirin for that PA-induced splitting headache. Well, tough luck: as the sign clearly states, if you leave the site, you will have to queue again. But hey, there's a choice of two queues, cash and credit card. Your entitlement to re-enter will be manually checked, even for QR code holders.
- The garden. Some interesting features, but frankly, nothing to write home about. Expect widespread childish behaviour such as riding, handling or otherwise damaging of sculptured trees to get that corny tourist selfie or shot. Embarrassing. And quite the endurance test for the sculptures, some of them showing signs of wear in a climate that is not exactly forgiving to plants.
- Price. So when it comes to value, what do you get exactly? Picnic tables where you can bring your own food and drink are plentiful in other locations, such as Casa de Campo in Madrid. You will find silence there too, and hot drink availability is guaranteed thanks to some redundancy in the form of various cafes. If you like plants, then el Real Jardín Botánico in Madrid welcomes you for a mere 4 euros. Make that zero for children under 10. But if you come here, it's not for the picnic, or the plants, or the sculptures. You come here for a well-rounded experience, one that begins with a speedy ticket check, a clear, readable map without fancy fonts, a cafe that serves cafes, and a site that avoids overcrowding by enforcing maximum quotas. In short, you come here to get a smooth, well prepared, well planned and well executed experience. And then, only then, you would be prepared to pay 11 euros, or 7 for children between 2 and 11. But sadly, if there is one thing we have seen about this place, is that it is clearly unprepared to provide such an experience. I suggest you go to Casa de Campo and Real Jardin Botanico in Madrid. You'll get much more out of it, and you'll have at least 7 euros more in your pocket per person.

This place can be as fun or as dull as your imagination allows. Plenty of different tree sculptures from fairy tales to animals. A nice little maze kept the kids happy too. Worth a visit if you have little children.

€11 to walk round a "park" with wire mesh shapes covered in foliage. In most cities botanic gardens would be free. Having seen the photos there was nothing to be gained by being there. The cafe was a drinks machine. The toilets had more wildlife than the gardens. Save your money and look at the website instead.
