If you are in Bulgaria, this is a place you must visit. These rock formations are a spectacular sight. Hike all the way to the top. The view is worth it. It's steep in places and the footing is a bit slippery so don't attempt...More

I was initially unsure whether it was worth it to spend almost 3 hours driving from Sofia (one way) to here and then back but in the end the fortress was one of the highlights of our Bulgaria trip. We had gloriously sunny weather (but...More

Amazing place! Although there are a few too many steps to climb.. the view of the top is worth it! Go! Visit! Now!

The entire area around the Belogradchik rocks and the fortress is breathtaking! The rock formations are truly impressive. We managed to take quite a few beautiful pictures for the three hours we spent walking around and enjoying the view.

This place is incredible. A fortress at the top of the mountain, surrounded by these mysterious rocks that sometimes look like animals or faces. People say that it reminds them of the Lord of the Rings. It's true, there's definitely something magical there.

Tempted by the foto's we found in travel magazines and on the internet, we made a special detour in our Bulgaria vacation journey to see this miracle of nature with our own eyes. The rocks of Belogradchik proved to be more than worth the special...More

Spectacular medieval fortress nestled into the crevices of the mountain rock spikes. Explore all the side trails, nothing takes more than a minute and the views are superb. 1 hour drive from Vidin. A MUST.

Finally a great place. There are about 100 steps here but you can walk as far as comfortable and stop and have spectacular views. I have two knee replacements and made it to the top. There were many others in our group who walked with...More

The rocks are the fortress and surround the fortress. The parking is next to the entrance to the fort. Get a map or a topo-map to walk the rock formations. They cover a large area at different levels. When we visited the... More

Sorry, but we didn`t hike in the area. Maybe the best way would be if you go to a tourist office, when you are in Belogradchik and ask for more details. Another way is if you could find a local person, who knows the region... More
